  2. Not sure if anyone watched this video, but one of the books that they are hyping this week is Vampirella 1 Gold Edition Reprint by Harris Comics. Now I have been following Vampirella 1's and the reprints closely for quite some time. When they mentioned that the gold edition had a recent sale of $2300 for a raw book, I knew immediately that something was off. The gold edition has always trended between $100 - $150. Sure enough, there was a recent $2300 sale on eBay, but you can't even view it which usually indicates a fraudulent auction. I'm glad to see some publicity and hype with Vampirella 1 but I wish these guys did more of their homework before spreading misinformation.
  3. For those that haven't gotten the "Art of Enric" book yet, it's a definite high recommend from me. There's so much Vampirella art in there that was never previously published that are absolutely amazing. Here's a few of them just to give you guys a taste...
  4. That will depend on when the Vampirella fans got brought into her comics. I was first introduced to Vampirella back in the early 90's when the Vengeance run was being published by Harris. You can thank Wizard for pumping the whole "bad girl" craze at the time. Vengeance of Vampirella #4 was my first Vampi book and I collected her books regularly from that point on until the comic market crash. Even though I also collected the Vampirella cards during that time, I totally ignored the Warren books. I knew about the books, but somehow it just didn't appealed to me back then. It wasn't until I decided to get back into Vampirella several years ago, that I started to pay attention to the Warren books. Eventually I just took a leap of faith and started collecting them which I'm glad I did. Jose / Enric's artwork just grew on me. So in any case, if it wasn't the fact that I decided to give the Warren books a shot, I wouldn't be here posting in this thread today. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a good chunk of Vampi fans that got brought in during the Harris and Dynamite era that don't care much for the Warren era.
  5. What issue numbers are you missing? I'm in the process of setting up another round of Vampirella sale on the boards within the next week or two.
  6. Here's my latest Vampi acquisitions. Anyone else a fan of Enric's Vampirella art?
  7. Just some food for thought. After you complete your 1-112 run, that 113 is going to look real tempting when you try to figure out what other Vampi books to get next. It's probably a good thing you got it crossed off your list. Also once you get the special softcover and annual, that hardcover is going to start gnawing at the back of your mind.
  8. It's awesome seeing other people's copies of the Vampirella special HC and exhilarating to learn something new. Never knew about the Spanish editions and dust jacket before. Now that we established that is the rarest Warren published book, what would Harris equivalent be? Would the Morning in America Diamond TPB be it? I'm not sure how many are printed but this book was only given to a few select stores back in the days. Please post your copies if you have one.
  9. You can never go wrong with Jim Balent's touch on Vampi. His work in Vampirella #1-3 is still one of my top favorites!
  10. Thank you for showing these. That dust jacket definitely looks interesting!
  11. That's awesome! So now the burning question is the Spanish edition part of the 500 print run? Does your copy have a number on the signature page? Can you post some pics up when you get the chance?
  12. I'm not sure if you know about this site, but I have used it quite often to reference and put together a checklist for my Vampi collection. It's pretty quite detailed and kudos for the person who put this site together. http://www.vampilore.co.uk/
  13. You are correct. The hardcovers are personally signed by Jose Gonzalez and numbered. What I find interesting is that they printed 500 of these, yet only a few (like less than 5) have ever shown up thus far that I know about. I wonder what happened to all the other copies?
  14. I also never knew the hardcover existed until someone on these boards found one on eBay years ago which also had the original mailer. Since then, I was on a mission to find one.
  15. Just got back from a small local show today and was shocked that one of the vendors had this book which I had been looking for quite some time. I think this is the rarest and most hard to find Warren Vampirella book since I rarely ever see this get posted for sale anywhere else. Even though it's a mid grade copy and quite pricey, I had to pull the trigger on it since I don't know when I would ever get the chance to find another copy. I'm finally glad to add this Vampirella Special Hardcover Edition to my Vampi collection. If anyone else have a copy, please post yours as I like to see them as well.
  16. Yup, I sent the request to get it removed and provided eBay all the details and messages involved. Surprisingly, they removed the negative pretty quickly.
  17. After a long streak of sales with good buyers, I finally got that one malicious unreasonable buyer show up and left me a negative. Here's the buyer's user ID in case anyone wants to add him to their block list. amcle-75 So here are the details... This buyer made an offer on one of my Lady Death books which I accepted on Nov 22nd. The auction clearly states that the estimated delivery date will be between Dec 1st - Dec 4th. The book was shipped out on Nov 27th and right after it ships, the buyers sends me a message stating that he wants his money back because I took FOREVER to ship because he needed the book the next day. I responded back stating that he never communicated to me that he needed it shipped next day and that I have a 5 day handling policy due to my full time job and in case of holidays (in this case Thanksgiving). For some reason, eBay no longer shows seller handling policy in the auctions. That is now embedded in the estimated delivery date. He sends me another message asking for immediate refund (like right now), while the book is still in transit. I told him that I will gladly give him the refund but I need to get the book back first. He never responded back afterward. Today, I see that the tracking shows the book delivered (Dec 1st), which is within the estimated delivery window. Lo and behold, he immediately leaves me a negative saying I took FOREVER to ship (which is 5 days on a Thanksgiving week) and that I refuse to work with him. https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/boots_1000 So there you have it guys, deal with this buyer at your own risk.
  18. I saw his auctions too and was planning to bid on a few of them. While scrolling through his other items, I noticed all of his picture backgrounds were different which set off a huge red flag. I sent a message inquiring about one of the books for additional scans, which he never responded to. At this point, I was uncomfortable with bidding on his books and didn't bother wasting any more time with him. Glad to see I dodged the bullet there but sorry to hear you went through this.
  19. A CGC 9.0 just sold on Heritage for $3840. I wonder how much a 9.2 would be worth now....
  20. Which one? One of the 9.2's came from Comic Link and the rest of the slabs all came from eBay.
  21. LOL, I think I may have an addiction problem. So who's starting that Vampirella Annoymous again?
  22. These two weren't the hardest to find, they were just the last books I needed. In general, most of them were pretty easy to get with the exception of the last few Warren issues where the print run takes a nosedive. I started collecting the run some time around August - September of last year. The good thing was I already had a few Vampirella 1's that I bought a few years ago. For most people, I think Vampirella #1 would be the hardest due to budget / price. As a rule of thumb, when collecting a run, always target the most expensive books / keys first as they would only get more expensive if you wait. Some of the other notable issues that you may need to pony some $$ for are the first few issues and the last few books including the Harris released issue #113. Also the annual can be pricey depending on the condition.
