For those getting books back, congrats! What return service(s) are you using with success in terms of speed and reliability (boxes not being crushed)? I'm experiencing delays with FedEx Ground lately. I was trying FedEx Ground because FedEx Overnight got too expensive. Thanks in advance.

UPS dropped off my modern order Wednesday...sent on Friday.  It was in the best of conditions!

UPS was suppose to drop off my modern mags today...sent Wednesday.  UPS guy just pulled up and said it's on his scanner...but not on his truck.  UPS lost it already.

You know the grades but not the books?

I mean what the condition is (I donno how they received my comics after shipping)...but that wait is over, I just got them.

    10 - 9.8

    14 - 9.6

    1 - 9.4

24 "Something is  Killing the Children #1's...one of the 9.6's i dropped on the top right corner and pressed for days...color break of every page and back cover, so happy with that.

the 9.4 had 3 spine ticks...happy with that.

All the rest look exactly the same, so donno...and I mean all the same!  And CGC is up charging me for the 9.8's to standard sub cuz...money, i guess...so that adds 49.50 per book.  I can post pics...but 2 pages of fighting has filled the board up, just ask.

  3. For those who subbed way back any time before June...we all know there was a rush of volume...straight up end of the world, mail all ya books in flood into CGC...crash the servers ya'll!  And we all thought, well this is all gonna push the TAT's into a long wait.  But some of us subbed before the one week notice of price increases...but our mindset was the same none the less.

But somehow these subs are treated different.  We all fill out the same forms.  But these subs are treated different.  We all mail to the same address.  But these subs are treated different.  And they are being treated different by CGC.

We all see books released in September already at there homes' slabbed.  Why aren't my March subs slabbed yet?  Cuz with our own eyes we see, we treated different...and that's CGC, treating customers differently since May 2021.  Back of the vault different.

  4. People can buy a copy of King Spawn with coa Todd sig...mail it to CGC...get it graded...shipped back home...and post it on insta all while my May subs sit on the floor at CGC.  Dont they get we can see all these books, graded months before our subs...literally getting different treatment for what...cuz we subbed before a price increase.  Glad home heating oil companies dont work this way...not that they care either...and that's me saying out loud CGC dont care.

  5. Just a quick questions about turn around times.  I was looking at some comics on ebay and noticed this CGC graded "Kang the Conqueror #1" which I know came out August 18th.  So I looked up the certification number on CGC site and saw it was graded on the 9/13.  So the turn around time for this sub was 17 days...how?  Its posted for under 90 bucks...so not walk through or express, right?  Just asking...cuz I would like the 17 day turn around under 90 bucks option also plz.

  6. My "standard" submission, which was received 4/29, has now been stuck in "Grading/Quality Control" for 2 weeks.  But the day my sub went to quality control they went ahead and changed the posted turn around times.  My standard sub is now at 95 business days...and still not shipped.  So the posted turn around times are over 4 weeks off for my standard sub.

You make it seem like CSG has a grudge against you.

And if your order has been sucked in their building, then that does suck.

If I knew the grammar police were on patrol here I would have...naw, I still dont care. I am just making a point that I paid for standard service and am now closer to economy service.  And every week, for 6 weeks, they up the tat to match my sub date...the same 6 weeks were the posted tat for standard when I subbed.  So if I share this info it's to inform people...thx for trolling.  I'm over 17 weeks for my standard sub. And if economy is 20ish weeks, standard is a waste of money.

My "standard" order, which was delivered 4/29 finally moved to "Scheduled for Grading" 7/21.  Has been there since.  Over 70 business days.  When I sent them the Turn Around Time for standard was 30 business days.  I'm over the 72 business days stated in the current turn around times...which I'm sure will go up Monday to 77.

My "standard" order is still stuck at CSG.  They just keep upping the posted "turnaround times" to keep pace with how long my order has been suck in their building.  They have literally been adding 5 days every week for the past month and a half to keep the turnaround times constant with my submission...the definition of taunting!

If they could just hold off til the end of September then all s well

They are your books...they don't keep them!  But...their is an added fee imposed on your bill for non payment.  They will start charging you a percentage of your bill...monthly I believe, like a credit card would.  It was in a recent email they sent out.

Second order for PC was sent standard with subs. Arrived May 10th and was received back July 29th. That's 56 working days and 81 calendar days (3 holidays). When they arrived, standard was 47 days. Not bad considering the explosion in submissions.

I have no idea what CSG is but the posted TaT start the day that your books are delivered to CGC. This is new. Only started the last 60 days or so. Before that it started the day your books were received into the system by CGC.  So CGC could technically of had your books for 6 weeks without your TaT starting.

SFG usually the same time they are received. Its the new Verified if you are an old timer.

CSG is the sports card branch of Certified Collectables Group...just like CGC is the comics grading and CCS is the pressing, ect.  They are all listed on the very bottom of the web site.

I'm not commenting on the TAT of "your" submission.  Or anyone else's.  I'm just commenting on the TAT posted by CGC...how is THAT number generated.

  12. Does anyone truly know how CGC calculates their "Current Turnaround Times"?  If you already knew this, great.  I didn't...and now I know.  This is me, finding this out from practical, recent experience...Let me tell you about my submission to CSG.  Why?  Because the smaller sample size brought out what I believe is the correct solution.

I subbed a "standard" submission to CSG.  At the time it was a 30 day TAT.

After 30 I started checking in on the status daily...

TAT climbed up to the 40 day TAT.

My submission went into 60 days without being received...TAT was at 47 days on the CSG website

On day 67 my "standard" submission was finally logged into the system "Received" at CSG.  Went to "Scheduled for Grading" the same day...and the TAT went from 47 days to 67 days at the same time.  Yes, the TAT on the CSG site jumped from 47 to 67 the moment my submission was logged in!

So I'm assuming the posted TAT on the site is the oldest submission logged into the system "Scheduled for Grading" at CGC and being that the clock stopped for my sub at 67...it must be the time delivered to the time it reaches SfG.  That is why some peeps are getting them sooner than the TAT's posted cuz it's just the count of the oldest sub in the system at the time...

All this said, it just means my CSG sub is the last loser...yippie, i'm last.

This is what I sent in, an unpressed #266 9.2 to also get it pressed.

I wasn't sure what to write in the notes of what I wanted, other than: "Gambit Hair Face And Collar, and we'll all of it"

Part of me thinks I put my foot in my mouth lol but I think it will work out :wishluck:

    I'm sure it'll look cool.

Pic 1 beautiful, pic 2 nice, but I'd expect more for 875.  What's the per hour break down, meaning how long does everyone think it takes to do a pic 2 sketch? Is that like 4 to 5k per hour? I cant do it

Just to be clear...CGC is defining Pic 2 and 4 as a "sketch".  Pic 1 and 3 as a "remarque".  There is a price difference between the 2.

A "sketch" is done on a blank...the pricing for that is 875.

The"remarque" is done on a regular comic cover and is 460.

When I first subbed these I was told any blank sketch cover was automatically 800.  Any regular cvr with a sketch request was 400.  Jim Lee had different rules for sketch covers...he wouldn't work on them years ago and would only do remarques on cvrs for 400.  And when he did start working on blank sketch covers he charged double...but would give you a bigger "sketch".  This is just my experience over the last 5 years.  This is still a great op with a quick turn around!  I've gotten a bunch from Jim Lee because I think it was worth it!  And every one of them is worth it to me.  As for price examples...Liefeld charges 400 for remarques.  Clayton Crain just finished his 3 weeks ago and his remarques were 300.  It's what the prices are today.

    Gambit 1.jpg

  15. As to the number of sketches Jim would do...CGC had the Clayton Crain sketch op and signing 3 weeks ago.  The sketch op was suppose to be open for the first 10...10 was the cut off.  I'm hearing Crain did 79 sketches for that signing op.  That's how many order went through.  Back to Jim Lee sketch op...I know peeps that sent in books 2 years ago for private sketches at the same prices and are getting them back now.  It is tough to lock Jim down for the sketches so who knows when the next chance will be.
