  1. Everything in this post was 25% off.  Unmarked books were $1 before discount.  Nothing crazy.  The Champions 3 may be very good but hard to tell because I only see one sale.  This is the last of the Spawns he has below 290 that I’m interested in.  He may have more in the collection he hasn’t found yet though.  He has a nice 276 McFarlane variant but it’s $75 so I told them they can sell it to someone else.8C0416F7-4823-40F2-8C24-4C887632FA51.thumb.jpeg.0bfc62668710ed63c715119604b661dd.jpeg194675A1-0F64-4646-871E-449D33AC899E.thumb.jpeg.ccbd83d0f05af1afd4fda91c2b6ccd3f.jpeg

Apparently, that color break to the right of the CCA stamp is not significant enough to merit a deduction (or a mention).  hm  Note to self: leave your reading glasses in their case.  :tonofbricks:

I saw that too and deducted accordingly.  I ended up at 8.5 but thought 9.0 was possible or even 9.2 on the outside.  Of course without the book in hand it’s hard when you only have a 2d view of the defect.

  3. I think the way to do it is to use CLZ, which I haven’t tried yet, or other app and if there is a note field add a 3 or four letter code to a notes field that you write on your boxes.  There must be one right?  It would work well for short boxes but less well for long boxes.

By the way, does anyone know if there’s a way to export from CLZ to a spreadsheet format?  That would be nice.

Something a little different tonight. I first learned about this "Black Panther prototype" sometime when Boseman's T'Challa appeared in the MCU. I recall the auction prices went a little nuts. I lurked around for a long time, and grabbed this one when prices came down. Wish I could remember what I paid. I think that I got a "store stamp" discount b/c this is a pretty nice copy. I looked around a little and all/most of available copies/recent sales are pretty ugly. Maybe people are sitting on the good ones waiting for Wakanda Forever.

Not sure I buy the prototype here. The name and costume are similar, but there doesn't see to be anything in the Lee/Kirby kerfuffle over creation credits about this character published a year before, and there's no overlap in creative teams on this and FF52. And the character is white and in the whitest comic I can imagine. Of course, I am willing to indulge in the prototype narrative if it increases demand for this book.

hard to believe spawn books are so expensive. need about 20 books to complete my sons run of 1-300 really cant see spending $30+ on any book from this series............

That’s totally understandable.  Keep looking and you might get lucky with some of them. Or if you wait long enough I bet they’ll come down again to something more reasonable.

  6. I visited a local guy that buys collections and sells at cons and got in his list for when he has new stuff.  He has a booth that he rents space at at an antique mall from someone else.  He recently bought an awesome 60 some odd long box collection of mostly modern books.  I’ll post some of the highlights I picked up at what I think were steals.  This last week these were the best considering the price I paid.  In addition to these he’s been saving the Spawns from the collection to look through since I’m a good buyer.  These were 25% off the price shown.

  7. This is the first time I’m submitting for grading.  I have an excellent WD1.  It should be no less than 9.6 but I can see no defect.  I paid for the premium membership and I plan on submitting with a handful of other random comics.  What tier do you recommend I send it with.  I was thinking standard since I don’t know how it’ll grade.  Also what shipping method do you recommend?  USPS Priority with $2000 insurance or something else?

    thanks,

cant wait to send and get this back.
