  1. Alright if that's you where'd you get that hat??? That is some killer gear man!🤘 Yeah the "Air Jordan on the shoes" comparison fits well
  2. Peter starts college. Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborne appearances. Flash meets both of them for the first time. Both 14 31 are very close I have no problem putting 14 ahead but imo the story in 31 puts it ahead. I'd actually buy 14 before 31 because the cover of 14 is so appealing but I have to put 31 as the more meaningful story.
  3. Good question. Put it this way... These three issues 31-33 are the first important ASM trilogy. 32 may be the least important in that group but it's so interlinked with 33 that I have a hard time divorcing them so I'm being inclusive. 32/33 represent a major step up in Peter's development. He is forced to take off the diapers and grow up for the first time. There is real adversity being faced here both physically and emotionally by Peter essential getting put on the ropes! Look at it from the perspective of someone reading this for the first time back in the day. It's not clear that nobody dies in comics or that ASM will last forever. The reader doesn't know that so how are they not 100% compelled by this story?! From that perspective there appears to be a serious possibility that spider-man DOES NOT rid himself of that giant hunk of metal and ends up drowning. There is a real possibility Aunt May does not replace the radioactive blood threatening her life. His physical and emotional strength are both tested. The human aspect of these 2 issues is powerful whether you're a fan or not! Even if someone is not into comics at all but reads asm33 for the first time they'd be hard pressed not to find it emotionally compelling. I've read 33 maybe a million times and I still get a lump in my throat every time! Never fails! I don't know any spidey fan that wouldn't. So my main criteria for something being a key is what's happening inside the pages. These 2 issues in particular could have a blank page as the cover and I'd still consider them keys! This panel I'm including is as powerful as it gets! Aside from that, Ditkos artwork took a huge step up after #30 for whatever reason. Look at the first 5 pages of 33. I think its his finest work as an artist. Maybe they revealed Ock too soon as being the Planner they could have waited little for more impact but whatever, that's just a minor detail. Overall I probably included a few more than I could have in that list I made. I could have widdled it down some like 298 but I love Mcfarlane too much. But 32 33 are firmly in place as keys imo
  4. 1-100 1, 2, 3, 4, 14, 31, 32, 33, 39, 40, 42, 50, Biggest ones being 1, 31, 50 Very close borderline keys : 12(unmasking), 13, 15, 16, 18, 28, 90, 96(socially relevant drug issue no CCA) Edit: I'm struggling with 86 a little. It's not her first appearance but the first updated catsuit which everybody recognizes. It's a noteworthy issue but is that really a key? 200-400 238, 252, 298 (Mcfarlane), 300 Borderline keys : 212, 239, 258, 292(MJ says yes), 293, 294(Kraven story) All I can think of after 300 is 361. Maybe 323 if you wanna be lenient only due to Mcfarlane doing Cap
  5. Hey wait a minute didn't you have a 45? I thought I saw you post a 9.6?
  6. As for what's a key, my view on it is more narrow. I think there has to be something highly significant going on in the story for it to qualify. I don't believe an appealing cover, desire or value = key status. There can be such a thing as an important sought after book that's not a key. It's highly subjective however and if someone wants a wider definition than more power to em! 100 is a classic cover in my view but not a key. The only ones I'd include are 121, 122, 129. 194 and 101 are close but I don't quite put them in that class just yet. Maybe they'll get there at some point. They most definitely merit a higher status than most in that 100 - 200 group however.
  7. Yeah "well placed" is in the eye of the beholder. Its just a collector expression but there's no universal standard on that. There are a few infamous signature fiascos that are widely recognized however. Usually when the sig is directly over someone's face or something. For me 2 sigs if fine depending on who they are ofcourse. Did Ramos work on that book? Im always a sucker for that Stan label
  8. Not entirely sure its his first but I believe its "Secrets of Haunted house" 44 by DC in '82. Those were his baseball playing days How's that for trivia!
  9. Did you all see this being released? They're introducing it with the Claremont signing but I reached out and they indicated it'll be available to any x-men submission at some point. Its tempting! Hmmnn have to think about it https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/8246/chris-claremont-signing-event/
  10. He gets unmasked in 137. I think it merits a certain status only due to the return of the Goblin not necessarily Harry. I would guess not everyone at the time was sure they'd bring back the character? I don't know that it's a key but most definitely an important noteworthy issue. Btw, I'm not sure I'd characterize 124 as a key either but it was seeing a nice value bump in high grades recently. I don't know about now but it was on the move a few months ago!
  11. Mcfarlane is obsessed with Japanese Anime. I think sometimes he's more interested in trying to sell those damn Akira action figures than Spawn That's being modest. He could draw Akira with as much detail if he wanted to even blindfolded
  12. Considering it was a 9.4 modern its doubtful the rejection was related to risk of damage. If the OP ordered a regrade they should have given the option how to proceed incase he still wants to regarde. Doesn't make sense to just send it back so seems the OP has a legitimate gripe in that regard. It's not about being angry at rejection. He's spent money on shipping without being given the option on one of the services he ordered. Personally I would've sent it to Joey to press/transfer. He's more thorough with the pressing anyway plus much cheaper. Screw ccs with their (we decide for you) policy. I've ordered ccs prescreening 2 or 3 times years ago before knowing of other options. I did it for the same peace of mind the OP indicated. If I remember correctly they emailed to notify the approval for pressing. I believe they don't bother notifying anymore if pressing is approved they just go ahead with it. To answer the OPs question ccs returns any certified books in their holders. Only cracked out if pressing is performed.
  13. The post above has the right page. Here's the rest of it. The only ones that are recreated from the book are Fancy Dan and Ox. That alternate cover is definitely preferable.
  14. The more than one percent decrease in 9.8s since 2017 may be attributable to all those movie submissions ~2017 2018 . 9.4s increased by almost 7% in the same time. Fantastic work!!!
  15. That's strange! Seems like it would be in their interest to approve everything for pressing or at least give you a choice. They would rather have the business than not. From my experience with the ccs prescreening they only recommend not simply reject and return. I think providing details for every pre screen would be too time consuming for them make TATs longer. Did you inquire further as to why?
  16. Yeah PGX had more than their share of restoration misses. CBCS did way better than 60% in maintaining grade by my very anecdotal tally. I even saw a couple of cases where they over-detected restoration and they were returned as blue label. Its still tough having to sweat out results for higher value books no matter what 😓 If the OP is still wondering yes the service is still being offered at a discount
  17. Yes they're still offering the discount for crossover submissions. What they're not doing anymore is the deeper discount of a flat 10 dollar grading fee if the crossover results in a downgrade. That ended long ago. I've had about 12 crossovers cbcs to cgc and all of them came back same grade. Only difference was one or two got a page quality upgrade. Overall I think cbcs crossovers kept their grades most of the time at better than 80% of the time
  18. So you have X-men 2 through 120 all in 9.4? That's super impressive! What about GSXM? I'm shooting for a much smaller mini run GSXM to #100 mostly in 9.8 with a couple of 9.6s in there. I only have #95 left out.
  19. The way she was drawn was almost indistinguishable. They weren't going to divert from the established. I think it's not Romita here because he drew her bangs a little differently. They look a little thicker on the forehead here. Romita drew the hair a little further away from the her face. Its almost covering her eye shadow here. The bridge of her nose is sharper than Romita. But who knows its certainly possible? The differences are very small. I think this is Andru
  20. Mcfarlane has a distinct way of drawing hair, eyes & noses in particular. He tends to augment the cheeks on the face. A glance at Coyote 11 shows the lines on the faces are thicker than his. The hair is not drawn in that flowy Mcfarlane style. I wanna say the whole 13 cover is his but I'm not entirely sure? I'm not sure the Coyote part is his even though it resembles his art a bit. Clearly the Scorpio Rose section is him. Coyote was cancelled not long after Mcfarlane got there. Another one of his works that's under the radar is All Star Squadron 47 for DC right after Coyote and pre Batman. That cover does fully appear to be his artwork. Unfortunately it's not clear which is his first solo cover? It could either be Infinity 14, Coyote 13 or All star 47?
  21. You could easily be any cast member on the original Dragnet 👮‍♂️🕵️‍♂️ That's a compliment
  22. no you had that dismayed fatherly look on your face so I was attempting to meme your picture
