4.0 Universal will be rare and probably reserved for GA. Typically you'd be looking at 3.0-3.5. If your book is in otherwise good shape you could receive a higher Qualified grade.
yes... @grendelbo is right
the 5.0 is for golden age max grade
for anything outside golden age generally lower
-
*historically...however, more strict grading standards recently where it seems most completely detached submissions are seeing 4.0/4.5 max grades
-
completely detached?
5.0 max

That's kind of an odd motley crew of choices. Of those, I like the ASM #39 the best. But then I always gravitate to the oldest stuff.
Are you a Spidey guy? What characters and books do you really love?

Underrated Sol Brodsky Cover.
CGC Notes:
light wear to cover
moderate finger bends on cover
moderate staining to cover
Perfectly centered, clean copy. Bought raw then slabbed unpressed, finger bends should easily press out for a grade boost- I’ll do it if it doesn’t sell here… $750.Throw this in the box as well per DM

I'm grateful at least one person understood my messages! But it's interesting so many also read into it wrongly, like the artist.
But to anyone didn't understand, yes, the "next best thing" was a commission, not him as an artist.
This is clearly what was written in your response...free of malice or malicious intent. Apparently, this artist* did not receive enough hugs from his mother as a child.
What gives this artist the right to go off on an egomaniacal diatribe towards a person who sincerely asked him for a commission because he likes his work?*must be related to Michael Golden

How would you like to get this job offer:
"We're offering you this job because our first 5 candidates turned us down and while we don't think you're really qualified, we desperately need a warm body and you're the next best thing."

If an artist doesn't want (or like) taking on commissions. I'm OK with that.
But it seems like the artist took offense to being asked to take on a commission. That's different.
artist seems to have an inferiority complex
