I opened quite a few first-generation slabs and many had wells that weren't sealed properly. They ranged from some being wide open to others being partially open . Those you could peel apart carefully. The sticker on top was prone to either being missing or taped on.

Not seeing it. As far as I know, CGC allows minor bindary tears in HG books. I don't know or care how coverprice.com treats them.

Short boxes are the way to go, especially with modern books. I have not owned a long box in years.

I was very excited about the new X-Men and considered buying a second copy of GS X-men 1, but that week was a big week for new releases and I opted for a copy of GS Invaders #1. I was not pleased they weren't wearing the old team uniforms. As far as X-Men 94 was concerned, everyone knew the money was in the first issues; who cared about issue 94?

Would you not buy a house because it isn't easy to sell and you'll pay commissions on the sale? Don't you have short-term investments and long-term ones? You don't invest in CDs. You park money in them until you can find better returns.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but a shop owner's insurance covers his inventory, not necessarily items in his possession. I currently consign things for a hobby, and it is amazing some of the terms shops foist on consigners. Many shops take zero responsibility for items consigned to them if they mysteriously disappear. My insurance covers my inventory in transit, but not when it is in someone else's possession. Don't assume a shop has you covered.

No, I'm pretty sure it wasn't. We met while setting up on Thursday night and ended up going out for dinner, so by the last night, it felt like we'd been there a week. I was a one-man show at most of the convention and didn't leave the dealer room.

It depends. If thousands of the errors make it into circulation, I doubt it will be worth much. If 99% are recalled, it might pop. I don't see any reason why these would get purple labels.

That is true, but the last couple of CGC books I sold at a show were bought by people who never took them out of the protective mylar. They saw they were CGC-graded and went with them.

A dishonest seller doesn't have to fool the CGC, just the general public.

Do you own the other books in the series? Is #9 the same as #10? There were some Deluxe versions of some of that series, but not #10.
