  1. I've heard stories of Kirby doing quick sketches for kids who went to his house, if they were polite and he was in the mood.
  2. I really like the cover and have a mini-hoard of these I've bought over the years, but I didn't care for the story. It's been years since I read it so perhaps I'll revisit it. The Moore run started when I owned my first shop and while I read 95% of the comics I sold, Swamp Thing wasn't among them. A customer had pointed out the new artist to me and I kind of liked it so I read issues 21 and 22 back to back and didn't care for the new direction Moore was taking it. It wasn't until around issue 25 that I started to enjoy it. I started to lose interest after American Gothic.
  3. Thats okay. The hobby is a big tent. There is room for everyone. Well, Almost everyone. What I get a kick out of is the people who claim they aren't concerned about the money but have their books pressed, trying to squeeze an extra two tenths of a grade.
  4. Wow. It's almost like you are trying to make money off your customers. For shame.
  5. I notice you said at present. Is that something that may change and would there be a way to make it retro-active? It would be very useful to collectors of double covers . Thanks.
  6. Who cares what goes on there. I don't mind useless drivel, just not in the middle of a serious thread.
  7. I don't really understand many of these posts. There is money to be made in comics, and in most collectibles right now. I don't see anything wrong with a newcomer seeking an experianced advisor and I certainly don't think you should assume a person acting as an advisor is going to rip off his clients. I'm pretty sure Metropolis offers such a service and guys like Gary Dolgoff have long offered customized portfolios. Will an advisor get 100% of his picks right? I doubt it but I'd bet he could produce some very solid results.
  8. It puts a bunch of scattered material all in one place. If that is worth $30 to you, go for it. If you are a serious Ditko fan, I don't think there is much new ground. I know this isn't something with mass appeal, but I can't get past the $30 price tag.
  9. Somebody got a bunch of bags on sale, couldn't re-sell them to lawyers and repurposed them. I had a leather legal case like that that was my go to bag for conventions.
  10. I received a very nice assortment of goodies from RYAN ATLAS a week or so ago and opened it today. I thought I had every Avengers HC they've released but he found one I didn't have, along with quite a few trades I haven't read. I was in a rare organizing mood today and I'd started sorted my newest stuff before I thought of taking a photo. One of the tpbs reprints Captain America 176, one of my favorite issues of that era and a book that had a strong impact in my life. It's the culmination of a long arc that doesn't read so well as a stand-alone issue and it hasn't aged well but in the more innocent world of the 1970s, it was shocking.
  11. I was thinking you were doing something wrong as I 've never seen a design like that, but the photos seem to show them stored sideways. With those dimensons, they should stand up.

I can ship priority at exact cost and will ship media mail if the buyer accepts all responsibility. You must ask for this service and by asking you accpt full responsibility. USofA only No reprobates and no returns on these unless I missed something major. Nothing has been pressed, cleaned, ect. Most are original purchases Paypal preferred I'll be adding new stuff until I'm not so heck-in frequently.
  16. What is the consensus on these? I'm buying them at prices that are lower than when I started hoarding them ten years ago. It seems like a couple of these have skyrocketed but the rest aren't following suit. Some issues have more demand than supply.
  17. Well played. Based on the OPs first post, I'm not sure anything else posted here can be considered off topic. You saw a loophole and drove a tractor trailer thru it.
  18. I love the smell of the cornfield in the morning. It smells like VICTORY!!!!!
  19. Sometimes looking back can tell us what lies ahead, but todays collectors may not follow the same patterns. Movies have changed things and I think the hobby is changing from comic collecting to Marvel Comic collecting. I agree with the classic Adams covers but those are collected in spite of them being DC.
