  1. Honestly, I'm the complete opposite. I now view them only as an investment. No more spending money on books just so I'm one closer to filling a run. Now I look at a book and think- can I flip it for a profit or is this a book I want to hold for three to five years? I no longer enjoy new comics and the oversized Omnis are much easier for me to read than the original sizes.
  2. I have the sets and the stickers. PM me if you want to work on a deal,
  3. How does the rumored sale of an Action 1 provide proof that Superman 1 is better than AF 15?
  4. I'd say the whole Moore run is premium and you should expect to pay for for them.
  5. Enjoy the koolaid. I hear the banana flavored is especially good.
  6. They are cracks, but by calling them somethin else, it diverts attention away from their screwups. Why correct things when you can divert?
  7. I sell certain issues at premiums to others because people are willing to pay more for some issues than others. i've no idea who the dark JLA is or was, just that people are seeking out some issues more than others and in order to keep living my lifestyle, I tend to charge more for books people want and less for books that have less demand. If people are being forced to pay more for something that isn't true, maybe they should educate themselves before deciding what they spend their money on.
  8. The Batman issues sell at a premium. Even the one from the first series.
  9. The issue that has the Hellblazer preview sells well, at a small premium to the rest. I know it's in the mid-60s but forget the exact issue. I get more for the issues with the JLA, so I guess I'm just another lying scumbag.
  10. Are you kidding? Being a grader is the ultimate position. If not them, then who?
  11. A reasonable amount of time to do what? The company won't give a refund so what are your options? The USPS cut off service to your country, so there must be thousands in your shoes. I just don't see any good options for you.
  12. Your seller disagrees with your view. They think it is on its way and you need to be patient. Unless you now think a company you have been very happy with is trying to cheat you, I'd wait. You certainly aren't the only one dealing with massive delays.
  13. When the herd is saying buy, you sell. When the herd is saying sell, it is time to buy. Let's pretend you have $100 in a savings account. Do you leave it there and make perhaps $3 interest in the next few years, or do you buy a mid-grade Ditko Spidey or Kirby FF? Telling people they need thousands to invest in some hypothetical key is just wrong thinking. Why would an investor want a diversified portfolio of comics? I'd be laser focused on buying quality, not looking for diversity.
  14. How will the vendors load and unload? Is there electricity for the tables? Who is providing security? Do the vendors need tax permits? There are literally hundreds of questions you need to answer before you do a show. I was at a small Long Island show years ago, when the promoter put two guys who hated each other opposite each other and they spent the whole show arguing and trying to undercut each other. It was very uncomfortable for everyone else around them and the shows promoter handled it badly.
  15. The OP didn't ask for advice on what comics were good to read. He asked about investing. If he wanted to know what good reads he has missed out on, he'd have asked and I'd answer differently.
  16. Yes, God forbid you actually make money on something you love. It's much better to work at a job you mildly like than doing something you enjoy.
  17. Why? What stocks or cds do you buy to enjoy owning, reading or passing on? Who buys five figure slabs to enjoy reading or owning? I didn't spend $12,000 on a Hulk 181 to enjoy reading it, nor did I buy it so it can get passed on when I die. I bought it because in a few years I will sell it and make money on it. Thas how investments work.
  18. What do you mean by invest? Are you looking to buy a few books and hold them for twenty years or do you want to put $20,000 to work flipping books?
