  1. Zod could also travel to the past, spend years adjusting to his powers and be back in the present a micro-second after he left.
  2. His super logic would overcome his super-panic. One doesn't become a dictator by failing to adapt to unforeseen circumstances.
  3. So a person with a lifetime of combat experience like General Zod would kick a neophyte like Kal Els ?
  4. Has Thor ever fought Gladiator. I know he's skirmished with Hyperion who was his universes Superman knockoff. On the other hand, Superman has made short work of Hercules on a couple of occasions. I'm just not seeing it.
  5. Paul Litch has been known to hang around the Pawn Shop with Rick and Chumlee. There is a forum member who lives in Vegas that I think has an excellant handle on CGC grades, but I'm not going to volunteer him.
  6. The Irish have a great way of telling if something is sarcastic or not. You take your shillelagh and bash yourself in the head. If it rings hollow, it's sarcasm.
  7. Ask Odin, Frigga, or the other Asgardians.
  8. This weeks auctions were nothing special. A few minor keys went a bit low, but then a few Charletons did much better than I had figured. I have some nice Marvel slabs coming up so we shall see.
  9. Isn't Thor now a female? No way Supes hits a female.
  10. I know what the magazines are worth. I also know you said some issues of Wizard are worth a hundred dollars. I also see the book you claim sold for $100 on multiple sights for $7-10. Let us know when you list yours. We'll see how they do. Personally, I haven't had anyone ask about them in years. Now that you have shown they can go for $100, perhaps there will be a run on them.
  11. He could always use his Avengers Priority card to summon The Sentry to toss him into a red sun.
  12. You are funny. Look at the listing again.
  13. You posted a shot of some nutjob asking $100 for a common issue and accuse others of posting bad information? Which Wizard is not common and run of the mill?
  14. Knock Supes down and pin him to the ground, chest down by placing Mjolinir across his back.
  15. If she is gone, never to return, who cares? She wasn't a hobbyist, or someone trying to learn about the hobby. She found boxes of stuff and rather than do any research, she came here in the hopes of striking it rich. Now she is gone, and the forum is no worse off. Someone has the sum of the worlds knowledge at their fingerprints and they use it to try and get others to do their homework for them. But lets get back to these $100 issues of Wizard. I've got a few short boxes that might contain a few. Which issues should I be looking for?
  16. As best I can tell, Metropolis is the biggest dealer in vintage comics, so they must be doing something right. I often disagree with their grades, but they provide nice scans and I can judge for myself. I've had two problems with them. Both were resolved swiftly and to my satisfaction. When I look at a book with big scans, I dont care what Metro graded it, or what MCS grades it. I judge for myself, and if the book is a bargain,I bid. If the price isn't right, who cares what someone else graded it.
  17. Metropolis invented the current 100 point grading system, and is one of the highest grossing shops on the planet. Why are you upset they don't use CGC's standards but it's okay if MCS doesn't. Perhaps if CGC standardized their grading and actually published theses standards, dealers might use them.
  18. I won eleven lots from a single seller on ebay. Seller said he would happily combine shipping, and to wait until he sends an invoice. Three days go by with no invoice, so I email him. No response. Two days more, and nothing. Meanwhile I keep getting ebay notices to pay for the invoices. Yesterday, I sent another request for the total and he didn't respond. Last night, using a different email, I asked a question about a different ebay lot and he answered it this morning. Other than just wait for him to get back to me, is there anything I can do? Seller has over 20,000 transactions and lists over 100 items a week. I was the sole bidder on every lot I won, so they all sold for his minimum asking price.
  19. If they are all copies of that issue, you have kindling for a nice bonfire. If they are all different issues of Wizard magazine, you still have kindling. Remove the bags before you toss them on the fire, they will burn cleaner.
  20. Prior to Avengers 1, was it established all these characters lived in the same universe? I've always had a thing for Daredevil. He was in the first Marvel comic I bought off the stands, but outside of the two Millers runs, the character was a second banana for three decades.
  21. What a strange hobby. It seems the only responsibility the buyer has is to fork over the money. Why bother to learn to detect restoration or learn to grade. Has it really gotten to the point where anyone selling a non-CGC book should be regarded as a thief trying to pawn off inferior products on unsuspecting neophytes? Perhaps my 3,000 book inventory isn't slabbed because I have better things to do with $100,000. Last year I submitted 25 books to a consignment house and they recommended I send 4 in for slabbing. I agreed. The 21 books went on their site and sold in a few weeks, so I sent 25 more ,which also sold. I submit another group and they tell me I should slab ten of them. I decline because I want to sell them fairly quickly. Three months after the rest of the books from the submission have been sold, they finally get the four books back and they graded out pretty much what we'd expected from the start. The prices didn't really justify the delay nor the added expenses.
