  1. The printed on cover books are usually versions of a book that was sold as part of a.package deal. An action figure packaged with a reprinted version of a classic Apple by that character. I'm not aware of any of these editions bringing big bucks but ........
  2. As the cover specifically states "He's Back", it seems to suggest it's not his first appearance.
  3. The ones Lazyboy described have Not for Resale printed on the cover. The ones I described have it stamped on, after the fact. I'm not sure which the OP is asking about.
  4. Complimentary copies were often stamped as such with not for resale. I've also seen office.copies marked as such, with not for resale. I don't think they hurt value. Some have a certain cache to them CGC will grade them. I doubt many high grade copies exist.
  5. Years ago, I set up an Avengers set in the registry but most of those books got sold. I haven't looked at the registry in quite a long time. Do dealers and sellers use the registry for fishing expeditions?
  6. I think Person A claimed he still owns the book. If he sent it out on consignment and hasn't gotten paid yet, I can see his point. All I'm really curious about is if people thought the dealer should refund.
  7. I'm wondering if the book was sold by a dealer who had the book on consignment. The new buyer bought the book, requested registry points and the original owners said no, it's my book. So did the original owner get paid? If the dealer has yet to pay the original owner, that could be the source of confusion. Yet another reason to check out who you consign with. In another field, I was going to consign a pair of Gucci Driving loafers and at the last moment saw the shop pays out quarterly. That's akin to an interest free loan to the shop.
  8. That's what I was thinking, but I'm out of touch with much these days.
  9. It was a consignment book that the old owner sent to the dealer. Dealer can't transfer a book, can they? I would find the registry of use if I were a burglar. Since I'm not, I have no use for it. Others may look at it differently.
  10. I was reading about a dealer who sold a CGC book and then some two months later, the buyer asked to return the book. The reason for the refund was that the book wasn't able to be added to the person's registry. I think the former owner refused to transfer the book, although I don't know how that works. Anyway, as someone who doesnt bother with the registry, this seems like something I wouldn't allow. However, I have an open mind on this and am interested in the case for a refund. Why should a two month old transaction be canceled because a book has an issue with the registry? There is no doubt the book is real, as is the slab, and the certification numbers.
  11. I imagine most people use Overstreet. You can also check sold items on eBay, and look at online dealers websites.
  12. If it doesn't say Official, it's not.
  13. Jones Beach Air Show. I used to work right off Sunrise Highway and the Wantagh. The planes would fly right up the Wantagh. The practice runs were incredible. Please remember our Honored Dead. This weekend, do not mourn their deaths. Celebrate that such men lived.
  14. If it's an exceptional collection, consider working on a finders fee basis. A quick clean profit beats dealing with thirteen boxes. You might want to find out his marital status. Buying books during a divorce can be a problem. Happy hunting.
  15. I'm sure the dozens of your fans can't wait to see a video about a guy they don't know and you've never met. Sounds like a real winner.
  16. Go for the IMIS. There is a munchkin out west trying to corner the market.
  17. Couldn't even read through the first page of feedback without accusations of scamming and overgrading. What a shock.
  18. He was buying my IMIS off of Old Guy and Donut all the while swearing he'd never buy from me. Funny thing was Old Guy was paying my full asking price and selling them to Cal for about 30% more. Good times. Perhaps Cal can verify with his extensive records.
  19. I have no idea how long you were here. Nor do I care. Did you join before me? Don't know and don't care.
  20. I'm not sure you quite grasp the meaning of "entertainment".
  21. Sez the guy here for 22 whole hours. Lets save us all some time. Post a couple of rants and pull your indignant diva exit routine. Some of these folks haven't seen it yet. Entertain them.
  22. The average IQ is not 120. Depending on the test, it is usually around 100. About 90% of the population will test under 120. Scores above 110 are considered above average, below 90 as below average, with a fairly small window of error.
  23. Wow, I hadn't realized IMIS had tripled in value. Thank gawd you wisely invested in that book instead of dogs like Iron Man 1 or Spidey Ditkos. I'm not sure I'd be bragging about that book tripling in value in twenty years, especially since you are doing much of the purchasing.
  24. This thread could use a nice infusion of some 43.
  25. I accidentally attended a big UFO conference in Laughlin a few years back. Checked into the hotel to find some fancy conference going on. Turned out to be a UFO fan fest. I got free admission from a casino host to most of the events and crashed the cocktail party. Free booze and a room full of true believers should have been more fun that it was.
