To keep you folks from jumping off the cliff, please be assured I will buy almost any SA Marvel or DC in a Voldy slab and give you thirty percent of GPA. The line forms to the right.
  2. Arguing with a stone wall does nothing but make you appear as dense as the wall. There is a reason why RMA is the active leader in strikes and suspensions. It's not because the Mods abuse him. There are far worse things in life than being insulted by anonymous people. Wear his insults as a badge of honor and go out and take your dog for a walk.
  3. It is hard to remember, but this was actually a nice fun thread for awhile.
  4. If I had a million to invest, I'd spend $750,000 on every copy of Omega the Unknown and $250,000 bribing the writers of the next Guardians movie to feature him.

Same reason people say your post are stupid instead of what they'd like to say.

Lost in all of this is the fact that we now know who owns one of the two Comic Grading Companies. Do you think we'll ever find out just who owns the other one?
  7. If it's a well known file copy with identifying stamps, perhaps. If it's simply PGXs opinion, I'd doubt it.
  8. They are controlled when open to the public, but try it at 5pm on a three day weekend.

Sure he did. He's happy waiting six months for his books and money is no object to him.
  10. Finding climate controlled bank vaults ain't easy. Few keep the temp. the same 24-7.

You ,evidently, are not a dealer. Having my investments tied up for months is a problem for my cash flow and needlessly causes capital to sit idle. In the end, it really isn't just about what works best for you.

A diner? Burgers and fries? With every post, it becomes more and more apparent just how oblivious you are.

I wish my company would go belly up enough to make it attractive to a few of the bigger players in the hobby world. Heck, I wish it was doing well enough to simply double the number of employees. That's what failing companies do, right? Expand their labor force?
  15. Many "newsstand books never saw the newsstands but were pilfered and warehoused. These would have less handling, especially the copies in the middle of a bundle.

Does the coin hobby have anything near the size of ComicCon or the NY and Chicago Cons? I dabble in coins and went to what was presented as a major show in Las Vegas several months ago. It wasn't much to speak of. Biggest show I ever attended, but I've been to some auctions here that drew more people.

Just to be clear, those are PGX books sold on ebay, not PGX sold books. PGX doesn't sell books. Just ask them.
  19. Hold on. Somethings not right here. Marvel didn't solicit any such book. SuperHero Enterprise(Hero's World) solicited a book to be signed by Stan and Carmine Infantino but Carmine got fired before the book came out and he chose not to sign any, at that time. It is possible that Julius Schwartz signed it at the show, but the story is wrong about it coming from Marvel with the two signatures. The book was delivered to people who paid only signed by Stan. some got a letter explaining what happened, others just got the book. Edit-- It seems Carmine did sign some books, up to #431, which makes this book even more suspicious as it's numbered 310. Carmines signature should be right where Julius's is. From GCD: According to Overstreet, there are 5,000 numbered issues signed by Carmine Infantino and Stan Lee. Based on information gleaned from several internet postings and sales, it appears that only 2000 copies were in the signed edition. Furthermore, because Carmine Infantino was no longer editor at DC as of the end of January 1976, it appears that only a fraction of the 2000 copies were signed by him (at least from #431 up do not bear Infantino's signature). All copies were signed by Stan Lee. Overstreet's claim of the signed copies being a second printing is not supported by any data on the comics themselves. Between the phony backstory and JSA's near worthless authentication, I wouldn't pay $50 for this book. Sorry.
  20. It's a really nice book. I'd be proud to own it. The million dollar price is a tad high, and JSA is always suspect, but I'm surprised it didn't bring four figures.

A startup attracting an industry leader in another field to invest in them is hardly failure.
