SA to MA has been in a correction from pandemic highs yes. Price reversion to the mean (of trend) was inevitable as supply increased and demand normalized. Recession is a technical economic term for GDP contraction across multiple consecutive quarters.

Fair point, however, we are not yet in a recession and what may be potentially influencing price shifts is a combination of increased supply as well as higher interest rates. Those factors are more persistent than GDP fluctuations.

To reassure you, a Tec 225 4.5 might already be approaching a 5k fmv in the near future.  A 3.5 went for 3,600 today (3/15/23). Also, you get the enjoyment of owning the book which provides value. Congrats on a great book.

Fair points and I largely agree. My comment was relative to BA/CA/MA markets, GA has provided selective collectors with more favorable market conditions. The common factor is demand relative to supply; genres such as western and cartoon (outside of early Disney and Archie) also have a demand side issue. For higher tier keys, the potential buyer pool is more limited, which often leads to variance (see the Cap 1 7.0 at CL vs CC this month).

One sold on Heritage on 2 20/23 for 408. I count nearly 30 sales in 2023 between 350 - 500. The sale you cited is an outlier, and suggests something else may be artificially resulting in the 1k sale

Agreed - artificial scarcity is not sustainable, and Funko should be more responsible for their choices.  Funko's judgement and choice here may hurt their brand more than a donation ever would.

Yes, it is low. Last 7.0 went for 312k in May '22 on HA. Most recent sale is a 4.5 which did 194k in December '22. In terms of reasons why: there are a finite pool of buyers at this level, so potentially it was a visibility and timing issue? I view this as an outlier on the low side.
