I believe the buyer of the IH 340 was not correct, and there was misspelling in the communications. The woman's name is in fact Bree, not Brees. CGC is clearly all over this. At least, I hope they are.

No it was a private sale this summer. Shipped to a P.O Box in Kew Gardens NY and part of the name he used is part of one of the ebay ID's. It's him. I won't be funny and say Billy ZANE. But I bet I'm close. @Heronext

Was it on the 4/8/22 date shown in GPA for that 9.2 cert #? Do you have any info on the buyer that fits in with what we've seen here so far?

How can CGC get annoyed with the customer for mistakes they themselves are making? What's the current charge for a ME? If you're correct, and they are at a 50% fail rate why would the fee have to change? If they refuse, tell them to go themselves?

No, but if a submitter keeps needing ME, and CGC gets tired of them and the pattern like Mike got tired of Roy, it probably stops. Amazon tells me plenty of times, when they screw up, that a replacement is no cost, and keep the original. Then they finally drop me if it doesn't stop.

That hasn't been their protocol on reholders. What they need to do now, is treat all redolders the way that they have always (used to?) treated a slab that came in from their competitors.. They would give it a new CGC grade, inner well and holder, for a specific fee ( I don't recall it, but it wasn't grade fees) If they can do grade pre screens for $9 per book, with a minimum, they should be able to add @ $15 to each of the reholder option prices, for a grade check.

It could be family members or business associates with the other ebay accounts. Fraud is yes, one of the possibilities.

That’s still a long time. Just to clarify my mistake. The ASM 129 9,0 is reportedly sold from one of scamboys multiple, tied to NY radius, ebay sellers- in 2019. That sale is on GPA. There are no other sales of that cert # reported on GPA before that. That means scamboy has been at it for close to 5 years. This again, will certainly not be "a few hundred slabs".

We still don't know that they aren't tamper evident to CGC, other than times when they are sent in for reholders. Thus, the potential "loophole". If I send in an 8.0 in a badly enough damaged holder, that requires re grading, they might be able to look at it closely enough in re grading to determine the slab has previously been opened. We don't know yet.

The actual timing of the switch(reholder) is unknown. I believe the buyer bought it in 2019. I'm not positive, but I think it was heritage 2017, ebay ? twice in 2021. I'm running out of time to check GPA. Sales meeting this morning.

The 8.0 was graded in 2015 that was swapped in to a 9.0, graded in 2012, that has a new style label (reholder).

Hopefully you’re right, and the switcheroo is a relatively recent phenomenon. Someone has mentioned shill bidding evidence from before 2016, but the ebay seller IDs, all tied to this particular radius of NY, seem to have really started around the 2016-17 timeframe. Latest holder timeframe.

I thought the same thing, but the 8.0 was graded after the 9.0 The 9.0 was graded in 2012, but it has the new label. Reholdered. Swapped. The 8.0 holder was graded in 2015, and it has the old label style.
