  1. Selfies at a Baseball Game: America in Decline, 2005-2015, by George Will
  2. I'm just now seeing this thread. Rest In Peace, Howard. Eggs truly was one of the good guys.
  3. Though you seem to have typed apparently just fine. Two p's and everything.
  4. I think you're making that up. Either that of he's been sampling from the liquor cabinet again
  5. The Korean K-Pop Boy Band, BigBang is my new favorite thing. I know you guys would really dig it. Heavy strains of The Grateful Dead with some Hall and Oats and Pink Floyd influences. The lyrics remind me of Dylan.
  6. Ponies, Felicia Day, and The History of Australian Comic Books!
  7. Seems like we are roughly in agreement, Rune. (thumbs u
  8. Speaking for my set only, (Lone Wolf and Cub), I can say that reprintings ARE integral to a run. Reprintings, especially before the era of manufactured scarcity of current comic publishing, tell an important story. LW&C number 1 had four printings, simply because First Publishing underestimated the demand for the book. There really was no way they could know how successful the book would be as they were preparing to publish it. I understand the reasons for keeping trades out of competitive sets, (though I disagree there as well- and that is a discussion for a different day) but I do NOT see any reason to keep out reprints from competitive sets. These were actual comic books printed at the time, by the publishers, to be read. They are quite simply, "part of the run". My second print Secret Wars nu. 1 bought by me off the rack in a 3 pack bag was loved by me then, and loved by me now, and was and is most certainly part of "Secret Wars".
  9. Between the gross oversimplified caricature of the military and the coliseum o' zombies, my fifteen year old son and I rolled our eyes so hard, we got migraines. We'll watch the last episode, but we'll do it with detached hipster glasses and snooty French wine. They went the, "military guys want to molest the heroine" route. My son and I spewed out our expensive French wine. yet they didn't the point (of many) is how quickly society can go down the crapper. we're talking about 2 weeks. including the military. of course, what we also see is that the troops on the ground don't seem to have an interest in clearing out civilian populations, they just want to get the heck out of there and go home. the military brass, maybe have different thoughts. Okay.

  11. I don't know. If they went with the original story, it would seem played out as we have already seen/read it twice before. If they go with the Before Watchmen stuff it could be good but in the end you still know where it is going to end up so it would not be very satisfying. To me anyways. I was thinking they could create new material within the Before era. They'd have a lot of freedom and space. Agreed. It still leaves what we know is inevitably to come. It is hard for me to become invested because of that. True. I'm just hungry for a "good" comic book-based TV series. I'm either bored or insulted with the current lot. Off topic...but I saw the first two episodes of Limitless and liked it. Made me laugh a few times too. Lots of potential with comic book series. You did see Daredevil right? I can't remember. Yes...loved it. So...studio exec gives you a wad of cash and wants you to develop a hit adult tv series based on a comic book...what source material do you use? Nexus Lone Wolf and Cub Planetary Martha Washington From Hell John Byrne and/or Johnathan Hickman's Fantastic Four The Spirit Dark Knight Returns (miniseries) Time Beavers Airtight Garage Akiko

  13. White Washed. It won`t be Akira. This is the reverse of other brilliant Hollywood moves. They should just stick to what worked in the comics. Sometimes change isn`t a good thing. btw, I put Akira up there with Watchmen and Dark Knight Returns as the holy trinity of best comics of the 1980s. Let`s hope it takes place in Japan. I have a different 80's Trinity, but I respect yours. (I'd swap out Akira for Nexus). I'm ready for a live action Voltron. Done right. That property could be AMAZING and everything that Bayformers isn't.
  14. I see what you are saying but we live in a world where zombies and their actions are main stream. In this world, there are no zombie folklore, books or movies. Seeing your neighbor eating the dog would be a WTF moment, but not necessarily a immediately shoot him in the head moment...in that world. Heck, if you walked in right now and found your neighbor eating your dog and you shot him in the head, you would be the one going to prison. But your honor...I thought he was a zombie. Honest! No you would not. You absolutely would not. If you walked in your living room today and your neighbor is eating your dog and you shot him, you think that would be justified? In some states yes, but in a lot not a chance. IMHO, most states... (And according to Caira, lucky as well, in parts of the world!) And it really depends on whether or not I've been retained to defend you. If the dog is bit You must acquit
