  1. Here is my ASM 248 green 9.2. Just pulled it from the collection and forgot it has off-white to white pages but it looks great with no staple tears. As this book is in my private collection, I'll probably not sell it for a lower grade blue. Thank you everyone for all your advice!
  2. So I'm wondering what would be more desirable as they are selling for around the same price- Amazing Spiderman 238 (1st Hobgoblin) in either blue upper mid grade (around 7.0-7.5) or green (missing tatoos) high grade (9.2)? Both have white pages. Personally I don't care either way for the tatoos but wondering which is the better buy.
  3. Doing one more price drop to $135 shipped.
  4. Definitely an awesome book and one of my favorite covers (& characters) of the bronze age.
  5. Offering a key Kingpin book today below GPA. Amazing Spiderman 51 CGC 5.0 Off-white to white pages (2nd Kingpin & his first cover appearance) $145 with free Priority mail shipping. (Below the lowest most recent sale I could) Rules: No HOS or probies. Payment by PayPal. No returns on CGC graded books. Priority mail shipping with tracking.
  6. Thank you so much for the advice and I'm going to get "verified" this week. I'd like to experience this con as I've never been there before.
  7. So when I was upgrading my Marvel Spotlight 5, one of the books I saw was in the grade range I wanted (4.5), but upon reading the graders notes and closer inspection of the book, I do not think it is still the same grade. In the grader's notes it states a piece of the front cover on the middle of the right side is "nearly" detached. But when I looked over the book again, the piece was detached and I think that I see it on the bottom of the CGC case on the right side. That being said, I would assume if this book ever went back to CGC for a new case it would get a lower grade? P.S. I skipped on this copy.
  8. Ghost Rider 68 CGC 9.4 with White pages (Expanded origin of Ghost Rider with Mephisto) & Amazing Spiderman 51 CGC 5.0 Off-white to white pages (2nd Kingpin & his first cover appearance) Rules: No HOS or probies. Payment by PayPal. No returns on CGC graded books. Priority mail shipping with tracking.
  9. Price dropped to $850 for both books including shipping.
  10. Memorial Day weekend sale! Offering a set of two key Ghost Rider's books: Marvel Spotlight 5 CGC 3.5 with Off-white pages(First appearance of Ghost Rider) & Ghost Rider 68 CGC 9.4 with White pages (Expanded origin of Ghost Rider with Mephisto) Rules: No HOS or probies. 11. Hi everyone, So I'm considering making my first trip to the NY Comic Con this October 2023. As I've only been to a couple of local cons, I just have a few questions. Is it that difficult to get tickets? I see on the con's website about VIP and rollover tickets. Hoping some will be left for the general sale. Any idea on what guests are charging for autographs and photo ops? I would like to meet director John Carpenter as I've interviewed him twice by phone over the years but never got to meet him in person. Am I crazy to think there are any deals on Silver and Bronze age copies at this con or is everything marked up due to the cons popularity? Thanks in advance for any answers and advice.
  12. I would be just as happy to own my AF15 if it was only worth $100 and the the thousands I paid for it. An incredible book with the introduction of in my opinion the most significant comic book superhero of all.
  13. For a major Marvel villain like Mephisto, could his second appearance in Silver Surfer #8 (1968) be noted?
  14. I wound up getting a better presenting copy in the same grade.
  15. Update: After taking in everyone's advice, I kept looking and came across another ASM 129 CGC 4.5. I pulled the trigger on it after negotiating with the owner who was very nice about sending me pics and video closeups of the book. This copy has a well centered cover, bright colors and the large color breaking crease is on a section of white on the back cover - plus I got it within my price point. Looking forward to adding this grail to my collection. Thank you again everyone!
  16. Thank you and everyone else for your opinions and we'll thought out points. I will keep looking for a better presenting copy. This is why I love this group and honored to be in touch with great fellow comic collectors.
  17. A bit more faded colors on option C. Still looking for more copies in the same grade.
  18. Here is a choice C in off-white to white pages in the same grade. Grader Notes foreign substance left center of interior front cover moderate creasing to cover moderate wear spine breaks color staple tears
  19. Yeah, my budget is around $1,200 so that gorgeous 8.0 is out of my price range. The 3.0 looks good but these two copies I posted pics of are actually 4.5s and the price probably won't be too far off from the final Hammer price on that 3.0.
  20. Thank you everyone. I was leaning away from the copy A as although the rest of the cover looks great and it has white pages, my eyes keep getting drawn towards the rip. I was sort of going to go with copy B but some of you made some good points so I may keep looking for another copy in that grade.
  21. Well my budget is limited and these two copies fit right in plus I like the grade. I know there are lots of CGC graded copies of ASM 129 but I'd like to get the first Punisher before the new Daredevil series begins.
  22. Hi everyone, Hoping that I can get some input to help me make a final decision on buying a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #129. I found two copies, in the same grade, at the same price. Copy A is the first three photos with the grader notes beneath and it has white pages. Copy B is the last two photos with the grader notes beneath and it has off-white pages. I'm not looking to flip the book, it will be for my personal collection and only sold down the line if I can upgrade at some point. So which Copy would you choose and why?
