    awesome awesome awesome!! :x

Question though: was that pressed? 3 weeks to "in hand or at least grade and cgc scan" is :whatthe:

Recently the signing happened to a book of mine, and I was curious if I could determine an eta, but mine "was for pressing"

Awesome sketch though, and plenty of room for it!

It was pressed, but it was pressed after Heroescon, but before the Bendis private signing.

  2. If you submit for a reholder, the book is not removed from the sealed plastic sleeve inside the holder so you can't press the book.

If you submit from CCS pressing, you have to submit the book in the case and CGC will remove the book to maintain the chain of custody to maintain the yellow label.  However, the book will also have to be regraded and you risk a downgrade on the book.  I can tell you from personal experience that even with CCS pressing, downgrades have become more common.

  3. I think your best bet is either contacting their agents (for example Comic Sketch Art handles a lot of the major comic artists).  Other agents are Essential Sequential or Scott's Collectables.

The next best step in my experience is simply reaching out via social media.  Your success will obviously depend on how active the artist is on social media, but I've been able to set up commissions that way.

If there are artists that you are particularly interested in, you should follow them on social media regardless, often times, before major comic cons, they will post that their commissions list are open and you can try to get on their commission lists.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Welcome to the hobby!

Some things to know about Liefeld signings, it is very unlikely that he will do remarks IF he does a CGC private signing event.  Also, he has a staggered pricing structure depending on the book that you are getting signed.  In particular New Mutants 98 and New Mutants 87 are generally the two books that he charges the most for signing.  Last signing that I saw, he was charging $100 for those two particular books.

Even if he does not do a private CGC signing, you should keep your eyes out for appearances at different comic cons.  Even if you can't go or even if CGC is not there, there are facilitators that can get the signatures for you and submit them to CGC for SS Gold labels.

I love this in fact I’m really surprised she does work this good as I am not a huge fan of hers In general. I’ll have to remember this for the next time she’s available. May I ask what she charges for something like this?

So I got this done at New York Comic Con.  She was doing remarks for $20.

    Hello All,

I sent in 2 books for Chris Claremont to sign back in February, since then I had submitted a few more that seem to be moving along.

The Chris Claremont signature, (who is my favorite) those books are still in 'Received at CCS' status, did something go wrong? Was it signed at all?

    Thanks!

If you submitted with pressing its going to take a really long time, even with the fast track for the private signing.

If the other books were submitted without pressing or submitted not as part of a private signing, that might explain the differences in the time frame.

Many of us are in the same boat.

Many thanks for the obnoxious reply. 😀

This was my first signing, so I'm not entirely sure how these work.  Based on your snarky response I now assume that Austin was a one day event, so it's over and done... Since that was 11 days ago I might have expected some kind of status update if the comic was passed along to the next step in the process.

I guess as one helpful member posted some weeks ago, its best to just forget about the timeframe and the comic book will show up as a pleasant surprise one day I the next few months.

Your question was not unreasonable.  Depending on the number of submissions, some of the signings have had to carry over into second or third days.  The tweet only showed a few of the remarque sketches that he did and it wasn't clear if the signing was done.

I'm in the same boat as you, I submitted a handful of books for that signing.  The turn around times have been getting longer and longer so all you can do is keep your fingers crossed while you wait.

Did you also submit for pressing, if so the wait will be even longer.

Just out of curiosity what did you submit for the signing?

  8. I think your results were great.  Two key books at 9.8 is a fantastic way to start.

I'm also fairly new to slabbing comics and I've learned a few things that might also help.  For books that are already slabbed that could improve grades with a press, I normally wait until one of the creators is appearing at a con or doing a signing before I crack the slab and take the comic to the signing through either a facilitator or at a con with a CGC witness to get the yellow label and also submit with a press.  That way, you are cracking the book not only for a press, but also to add a witnessed CGC signature for a yellow label. (Books that already have a signature can only be cracked by a facilitator or by CGC at a con to maintain the yellow label).

Also, I would also recommend utilizing CFP Comics and Services (you will see him referred to on these boards as Joey Post).  He is GREAT to work with and he will pre-screen your comics to give you a sense of what grades are realistic.  For every single submission for me he has been 100% accurate.  Every grade prediction he made for me was spot on.  I still suck at predicting grades for comics so I feel better getting help from someone with more experience.  I've also done waaaaaay better with grade bumps with him than from CCS.

    Good Luck.

My top 3 today in order are:

    - J.O.Barr

    - Jim Lee

    - Jim Starlin

who I really want but can’t come

    - Peach Momoko

    the reasons:

I’m a pretty big Crow fan and my entire crow collection needs to be signed/slabbed, I really want my Samurai Santa signed and my Ironman 55 needs a nice crack, clean and signature. Also who doesn’t love peach! To bad she’s in Japan and covids going on, I’ll just wait till nycc2020 on this one.
