  1. Thanks! I’m a little bit behind in the times. My latest edition of Overstreet Guide is ‘85-‘86.
  2. Thanks for your insights. Best I can hope for is to reduce the intensity of the stains with the c/p.
  3. Third and final DC submission for tonight. Again this one is in rough shape. I am hoping that a good pressing to re-establish the spine/shape of the comic and a thorough cleaning to rid the extensive water stains will bump the grade up a notch. The paper has a "pulpy" feel to it, leading me to think that at one time this comic was left out in the rain. Yet the staples are clean with no rust. And as far as I know publishers did not use stainless steels staples. I did not buy 20 cent comics so again I do not know how I aquired this comic. Thanks in advance for looking and grading!
  4. Second up. This comic is in rough shape as seen by the spine roll, numerous creases, blunted corners and whatnot. In my youth, I stopped buying comics about the time when the prices went from $0.12 to $0.15. So I don't know why I have this 15 center. Thank you in advance for your time in grading!
  5. Another round of DC comics for your review this evening. First up one of my favorite covers with Flash and Superman. Thanks in advance for your comments!
  6. Checked centerfold and no transfer of rust. Staples appear to be rust free. Thanks for your comment!
  7. I think you are correct about the spot being a stain and not foxing. Upon closer inspection, the stain/foxing does not penetrate the paper to the opposite side. Rather is appears to "rest" on the surface of the paper. Thanks for pointing that out!
  8. Last of three submissions for the night. Nice glossy FC but the tear at the lower staple is going to ding the results. As always appreciate your comments and grades!
  9. Second up. Unfortunatey FCTR there is a color breaking crease. And it has seen some wear but the comic still has a nice glossy look. Thanks in advance for your time and grades!
  10. Tonight's focus is on DC. First up is the bi-centenial issue that personally I am not fond of. Too much pink, reminds me of T-Mobile. It appears to have some foxing around the edges and could use a c/p. As always appreciate your time in evaluatiing the comic, your comments and your grades!
  11. Thanks for pointing those out for me. I am educating my eyes!
  12. Regarding the extent of foxing, please see attached photos: inside front cover, first page, last page and inside back cover. Hoping that these will give you a good idea of the amount of foxing and the impact if any, on the grade. Thanks! Note: These photos are taken with an iPhone and not a scaner, I didn't want to crush the FC and BC in the scanner bed. I think the FC and BC bends from the spine indicate how tight the spine is.
  13. Thanks! The Krazy Cat book is weird, so it appeals to me! All about a cat who loves a mouse and the mouse despises the cat. Drawn and written in a surrealistic vein. Ran in the newspapers pre-WWII.
  14. Here are some close up photos. Looks like the BLFC is heavy wear. No sign of tears from looking at the same corner from inside the FC. Thanks for your comments and grades!
  15. Thank you for your thorough review and grade. At closer inspection I now see the verticle color breaking creases in the price block. But to this untrained eye I don't seem to see any other creases. If I am wrong, would you please point them out? This is all new to me. Thanks!
  16. Third and last of today's submissions. Appreciate in advance your postings of comments and grades!
  17. Second of today's three submissions. Thanks in advance for your comments and grades!
  18. First of three submission for today, all FF. Thanks in advance for your review, comments and grades!
  19. Third and last submission for tonight. This comic was read a lot. Unfortunately BCTL there's a large chunk taken out of the corner. Andon both FC and BC lots of creases, spine stresses, general wearing and a bad wrap. Still I loved this comic and it shows. Thanks for taking the time to review and grade!
  20. Second submission for the night. Front cover shows some dirt and an ink smudge (?) after the word "odds". And a lot of spine stresses. Appreciate your time and grades!
  21. A few odds and ends for tonight's submittals. First up. golden age Tarzan from 10/1952. Appreciate your time and grades!
  22. Yup, another priinter's crease. Ever so slight, but it is there. Thanks for your insights and grades!
  23. An excellent description of a printer''s crease. Looks like a miniture fault line on paper. Thanks!
  24. I took a photo of the price box and I am seeing some dark smudges along the spine but not a stain. Hopefully will not get dinged! Had to look really carefully to see that short crease on the TRFC. More pronounced from the inside of the back cover. Thanks!
