  1. Geez. $300k? On principle I'd take the Flash #1 just because the AF 15 is so common. But really I'd split the $300k and pick up some nice restored books I need like a Bat #1, Supes #1, and Marvel #1--and still have money left over.
  2. I am in total agreement with Matt on this one. Sensation #1 is a classic cover, anthology, a couple of first apps, and the continuation of WW from All Star. What's not to love? Ditto.
  3. Two iconic books, Andy - you're on a roll! Thank you! It's been a good Fall. Now if I could only come up with some way to relieve of that awful Amazing Mystery Funnies 2/2 burden you've been carrying...! My year would be complete!
  4. So, how's this for a banner shipping day? FedEx in the morning from New York: And USPS in the afternoon from Dallas:
  5. That's a definite must on the list of covers to own!
  6. A true classic - congrats! (thumbs u wasn't expecting to see another copy within the same weekend, especially since it took me over 10 or so years to find...just wish mine didn't have the silver fish damage on the TLC like yours... I guess great minds think alike...awesome book...is that the heritage one? I finally found my copy, took me many years to find one that was somewhat presentable and affordable...love this book Yeah it was the Heritage one. I couldn't let it go at such a low price! Of course now I have two since I bought one at Comic Con this summer. But just having the book is cool, silverfish or not! And you must be totally after ten years looking!
  7. Eric the Talking Lion? If it's in there could anything be stranger? they left off the word balloon on the cover--that's eric you see, and he's saying "how the spoon can that spoon fly, jungle king?" It's a cover dying for a caption contest, isn't it?
  8. Eric the Talking Lion? If it's in there could anything be stranger?
  9. I have to get me a copy of that one day. Maybe after I complete the Gerber covers...
  10. That's a book I hope to own one day. Well, I think there might be a 6.5 universal copy available pretty soon.
  11. I was just trying to protect the value of my 6.5 universal and got this for a steal! Or at least *I* think it's a steal. Of course then again the deal that got me the 6.5 was a steal for the other guys now that I think about it since I paid more... I'm so happy but so confused.
  12. Yeah, the more I look at it the more I wish I would've upped my bid. I wonder if this is a book that would be good for pressing. I don't know thing one about pressing though. With the visible defects on the book I would bet that pressing would not benefit the new owner in any aesthetic or monetary way. With a base starting point of $35 plus shipping to the presser and then to and from CGC on top of slabbing fee I can't see how anything more would be added dollar-wise since you'd get if anything like a .5 increase in grade. The lower left front cover has some creasing and the spine dings aren't correctible. Still a nice book though.
  13. Just in from CGC this week. Now I just need to figure out how to adjust the levels on my stupid scanner...not like I haven't had it for ten years...
  14. I'm going to post: Some GA (Weird Mysteries #2, Rocket Comics #1, maybe my Planet #1) Some SA (a bunch of FFs, maybe some Hulks or Thors or Avengers) Some BA (Spideys, maybe some Avengers) Grade will be all over the place. And maybe some OA, or some moderns, maybe some vintage paperbacks (although I think that stretches the limits here, they're HTF PK and other classics). I need to raise cash to buy a BIG book from a boardie. We'll see what I have scanned tomorrow and it'll just go as long as it has to go. EDIT: Actually I won't be posting until tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon.
  15. I know you're joking but, to make sure, that's his famous girasol ring (essentially an opal) that appeared from the very first Shadow novel: The Living Shadow. It's a Shadow trademark and seen on many Shadow covers like this one. I also show the original pulp cover that inspired the comics' cover. yeah, I was speaking specifically to the color of the stone on this cover. The purple looked exactly like mood ring purple to me.
