  1. Just don't bid on that stinky old extensively restored Planet #1, k? No problem! Just don't bid on the WW #2 with those horrible White pages I would never dream of such thing. (It's not on the cover of the Gerber Photo Journals)

  3. I'm watching partly because it's neat and partly to get the book I want if my live proxy bid is clobbered. I'm not sure how high I want to go. I went over my limit on the Blue Bolt 106 already...
  4. Nice! Anyone else live-bidding in the auction beside me?
  5. I would take the Cap 1. (And then sell it to by all the Gerber cover books I still need in lesser grades)
  6. For $ value the 31 but for the sake of all around coolness, the #1. However, I'd get the #31 now and the #1 later simply because Batman's popularity will only increase with future Dark Knight films and drive up the price of the #31.
  7. Here's a duck book for someone with a bigger budget than me. If it's not fake or something. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140173837992
  8. These just arrived today! More Gerber Photo Journal cover covers!
  9. Yeah, too bad it cuts off in the middle. In the late-60s, House of Greystoke published a book that reprints all of JCB's Pellucidar work, including the missing 8 pages from this story and the 12 unpublished pages he did for Western/Dell. I've never seen a copy for sale, but now I want one even more so I can finish reading this story! Jeff Google Fu, dude. http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/ListingDetails?bi=254353464&cm_mmc=gbase-_-us-_-gbase-_-254353464
  10. I haven't updated the Gerber Photojournal collection in a while, so... Volume One Front Cover Second Column Volume One Back Cover Rightmost Columns Volume Two Front Cover Columns Two and Three
  11. WOW how did i miss that altogether??? too focused on all the centaur books up for auction! that is a sweet copy, argo23!! just an amazing book. congrats! Thanks! I like October's copy more I think since the spine on mine is , but when I see a Gerber cover book I can afford I have to jump. this one came form one of the Sunday auctions though. Everyone was so focused on the Signature that stuff slipped through.
  12. I just figured, what the heck, a little tuck and no one's the wiser... J/k I traded a Hulk 181 and cash for it. If the staple wasn't popped it would have cost more. What would you grade it? They had it at 4.5, which I didn't agree with, though it's a nice looking book. 3.5-4.0? The staple kills the condition on an otherwise Fine book.

  14. My only San Diego pickups... Crappy photo with the flash on the Power 1, but it'll do for now. Hope everyone had a good show!
  15. Just in from the ComicLink Focused Auction: I now have the two right-most columns on the back of volume one complete!
  16. There are a lot of really killer books in this thread. It never ceases to amaze me! I just got this book in from Heritage. I haven't even unbagged it yet. Probably just going to send it straight to CGC anyway. My first Crippen.
  17. One day overdue Kudos to Divad for a sweet Avengers and a bonus book too!
  18. I can't even begin to explain how jealous this makes me. I never seem to find that book at the right time in an affordable grade. I need it for the only vertical row I'll ever be able to afford to complete from volume one. Nice pick up!
  19. It was in one of their regular weekly-type auctions. What's funny is I just got a VG one from eBay like a month before and thought I was lucky to see it at all then boom! here comes this one. So, now I have two copies but I'm happiest with this one of course.
