I was looking on eBay. You can get these for nothing now.

Which is great as its one of the best of the year imo so everyone still has chance to read.

Theres only been 5 issues, its not that well known, its going on holiday until next year (owner at my LCS says he thought it was only a mini series so passed on it)

Not sure why there should be expectation for price increases less than a year after release.

Loving this book and can't wait for January..   For those interested in value I reckon this is showing epic long term movie / series potential if it continues to be this good which is where price increases may come, but wouldn't expect that anytime soon.

Amen.. Its bad all over..   But cables hands and gun are something else..

Like the hands and forearms shrunk and just fused together with the gun somehow warping in over them

I actually received mine (ASM 796-801) on the 1st or 2nd week of august.  if you still haven't received them and would prrfer to have them rathwr than do a chargeback do exactly this:

locate your order # from your email.

During normal business hours M-F 9AM-4PM ET. login to facebook. if you don't have an account just create one with fake info and a spam email account.

then go to their Facebook page and direct message them and politely ask:

"Hi, Can you please check on the status of my order #xxxxx?"

reply times may vary but usually between 5min and 1 hrs for a response so if you don't receive a response right away check back every 15 min.

If you haven't received a response in 1 hr, repeat the question and politely ask "When do you expect to ship them?"

If you still get no response and if you are attending NYCC you can ask them yourself as they will be in attendance. Or Id be happy to inquire for you if you provide me your order #. otherwise you can resort to chargeback.

direct messaging them on Facebook worked for me.

I've direct messages then multiple times via fb.  Finally responded a couple of months ago when I said I would be opening a credit card dispute.. They said they would look into it.   Then nothing. About 3 weeks ago they they responded to my second threat  of opening a dispute that it would  be shipping  "tomorrow"

So far still no dice...   Im overseas in holiday currently and will likely just go through with the chargeback  when I get back which is a shame as I was really  looking forward to getting those books.

Clearly comic xposure have too many variants to be able to manage effective customer service.

He is awesome. They made him Marvel exclusive. Smart move. Ewing's Hulk is great & I'm not even a big Hulk fan. Really liking the new ASM & Daredevil also. Throw in some Cosmic Ghost Rider also. That's just plain fun

What about weapon h?   It's been a blast and it's looking like it's heading towards  utter insanity in a good way shortly..

  5. Like it or loathe it, (I'm in the latter) shilling is a fact of auctions anywhere and everywhere.. It can be out ruled or even made  illegal but people will still try it on if gives the chance of greater returns.    its been going on for as long as auctions and it likely always will.

Sometimes its underhanded other times its blazen. in  housing auctions in my part of the world the auctioneer places owners bids if the price isn't where the the owner wants it and its legal.

However at the end of the day, no buyer has to meet a shills bid, so as long as you only bid what you were willing to pay, you never pay more than you budget (though may pay more than was necessary)  So if something ever does sell at these prices there was at least one keen, legitimate, wiling buyer

Truth be told, if I was made of money I'd pay whatever I had for these and would drop a huge bid for spawn sketch covers, but alas I'm not so my budget is usually $100 and  I've got no chance. ;)

WOW!  Did anyone read the 4th issue... freaking intense issue.  :whatthe:

Really good.. Now thinking I need to read through the others again and figure out what was real or not..

It's really building well.  Is it true they are only doing 5 issues this year then resuming next year?

Nice. I think, based off of the 9.6 for sale, that a 9.8 would sell for about $15,000 to $20,000. Insane prices! As a Spawn collector myself, I'm screwed. Between this copy, the 189 sketch, the 222 Kudranski variant, and the 1 black error variant, I have my work cut out for me.

There a few very  recent that keep climbing also.. 280 Mattina, 283 image expo and 285 megacon

Oh and I really want 221 sketch but a) never see it for sale  b) will not be able to afford the asking price should it ever appear.

  8. Was really surprised to see my LCS had a huge stack of #4 today.. This is a shop that only puts the barest amount of comics on the shelf - usually 5 or so books even for big events like recent  asm 800 or the batman 50.

The guy working today didn't know why.    Was there a promo or something? I hope this book catches on as I really want to be able to continue reading it.. Its great so far.

Before the issue came out, I’ve already saw the Times article. I thought it was pretty stupid of DC to let the cat out of the bag even before the issue came out. But then when I read the issue, especially the last page, I think dc took a gamble. Just think what would Batman and Catwoman do when (not if) they found out who what/who really was pulling the strings.

Also, if you’ve been reading the previous books, King dropped a few hints here and there about this, especially his Batman-Joker-Catwoman storyline. So it wasn’t a big surprise nor a big disappointment.

The whole concept of an arch nemeis "pulling the strings" to  sabotage the wedding and "break" (emotionally) the hero seems far more "Days of our Lives" than something you would want to read in a batman comic ..

    Pass.

  10. The whole premise - can/should batman be happy and therefore can he love - is a bit too teenage magazine.  That it is being stretched out even further.. Well.... Sigh..

The guy is a good looking beefcake billionaire and all he could say was paperback schlop.

They are writing bats for the wrong demographic.. Or maybe the demographic has changed that much that fantasy romance novels  is a thing we apparently want to read
