  1. So, what you're telling me is, I CAN'T suck it? Aw Man. "Maybe you can still rock it." "try playing blowie" "(insert other witty current boardism here)"
  2. Out them here, please. What kind of dummy posts this when they are 10 posts into 30 unread posts? This kind of dummy, individual_without_enough_empathy. I read and respond as I go along. It's always how I've done it, and it can't be a surprise to anyone by now. If you don't like it, suck it. -slym It would be OK if you added something to the conversation...y'know like RMA used to read/respond & carry on three or four different tangential discussions with separate people, discussing things that arose in a thread - you aren't doing that. You're just "plus one'ing" day old posts or in this case, 'demanding' something that is readily available & already disclosed. 1) I am not RMA
  3. Detective #647 and Batman Adventures #12 had roughly the same print run. The only thing holding #647 back is that she doesn't appear on the cover. But #647-649 have totally disappeared from back issue bins. And there are only 8 domestic listings for the book on eBay.
  4. How do you figure it's overpriced by three times...one just sold for $350...so by your logic a 9.4 should sell for $50 less than one which would probably grade 7.5.
  5. PS. Not all second/third printings have a notice at the bottom of the indicia. #3-5, for example, do not.
  6. So what's stopping you? Here, I'll go... One of the rarest Marvel 2nd prints that exists: Not the SMF, just the regular ol' 2nd print. Marvel rarely did second prints unless they could justify decent print runs, even if the first print sold out, whereas DC liked to suck every last dime they could, and went back to press when they thought there was any demand at all...hence, books like Supergirl #1 3rd, with a couple thousand copies estimated to exist. Therefore, the vast majority of Marvel's second printings up to about 1996 are very common. Except this one and #64 2nd print. it looks like they made 2nd prints for every single issue 2 - 63 of gi joe.. GI Joe (1982 Marvel) #63 Published September 1987 by Marvel. Mike Zeck cover. All 2nd or 3rd printings have a 2nd 3rd printing notice on inside at bottom of indicia on first/splash page. 2nd printings were done for most issues from #2 to #63. Cover price $1.00. now we need a new thread about "Rarest 3RD printing of a copper age book...." Actually, there are more issues without second printings than ones with. For example...before #63, the last 2nd printing was #55. Most of #2-14 have seconds, but there are gaps, and most of the issues from 31-up do not have later printings. Rarest 3rd is Hulk #377. I think that was established a while ago.

  8. Try finding the DC Universe UPC editions of books from this time period. They are impossible to find and are often pretty beat up. I never realized that Chuck and MileHigh comics were so far ahead of the curve with the "DC Universe" books. The prices on their normal books is crazy, the prices on their newsstand copies are beyond ridiculous, and the prices for the "DCU" books is waaaayyyy out there. Yet, I bet they would only pay a nickle a piece for a NM+ copy. I agree that the mile high prices are insane. As far as the upc DC Universe editions they are very very hard to find. I have been collecting them for a few years and I can say I have never found a NM copy of any issue other than Flash 92 ( first Impulse ). There are a lot of key issues that have the DC Universe upc which makes them fun to hunt for. PM RMA, I'm pretty sure he could get you a few long boxes full of them. with the DC Universe upc? I doubt that! The real question is this: Do you know how and why the "DC Universe" books came to be? ..... The sealed two-pack should have given the whole DCU thing away. The books are not direct or newstand editions. They use to put newstand editions in these multipacks but casheirs kept ringing up the single comics and not the UPC for the pack, causing confusion. The DCU upc's were made to fix this issue. Am I close? Close...not quite the whole story...but very close. That was for the Whitman 3-packs from the late 70's. But these are definitely the grandchildren of that program....there's more to it, but you're off to a good start.

  13. I think it's well established by the most serious folks in this field that, while a 3rd printing of #499 exists...a second does not. Interesting, huh?
  14. Took advantage of my back issue 9.8 program, and was a model buyer. Thanks!
