Hi Everyone, I've been upgrading books for some of my Barks/Kelly runs, and I wanted to offer my duplicates here on the boards. Thanks, Mark General Rules No PL/HOS members. The first "take it" posted in the sales thread wins. If we reach a deal via PM, you need to post "take it" in the sales thread. If someone else takes the book in the thread before you, the earliest thread poster is the winner. Payment I accept PayPal, personal checks, and money orders for total sales under $1000. I only accept personal checks or money orders for total sales above $1000. When the thread is over, an invoice will be sent with payment instructions. Payment required within 10 calendar days of invoice or the item will be available for sale again. Shipping USA: You pay exact cost of USPS priority postage with signature required. Canada: You pay exact cost of FedEx delivery. Insurance is optional but encouraged and at your cost. Returns/Refunds I will accept returns on raw books and pinbacks within 30 days of your receipt, as long as items are returned to me in the same condition as I shipped. There are no returns on CGC graded books. If you need more pictures, just let me know. About Me I've been collecting comics books since the early 1980s. Expanded my collecting to original comic art in the 1990s. I'm also crazy about platinum and golden age comic-related memorabilia: pinbacks, premiums, posters, advertising, toys, books, etc. eBay handle is lansdown. 4500+ feedback since 1998 with no negatives. I have had successful transactions on the CGC boards with @Ricksneatstuff @goldenacase @ft88 @Frisco Larson @eyersman @jbpez @westform @Eric10 @TC33 @Obrie2tm @thejudge01 @Readcomix @N e r V @50YrsCollctngCmcs and more. I also run a website where I document some of my vintage comic pinback collection: www.pinbacks.com

Three of my favorite books added in 2023. Large Feature books are tough to find in grade and fellow boardie @cheetah sold me two pedigree examples that are gorgeous. I was also fortunate to buy a small collection of early high-grade Four Color books this year - I'm including one of these books as well. On to 2024!

Here's a fun celluloid pocket mirror that just arrived courtesy of the last Hake's auction. I am compelled to buy these early comic artifacts because no one else will.

Intense colors on your beautiful copy!

Hmmm. I also love Four Color comics. You might be on to something... -

On the opposite side of the cultural relevance scale, I collect Buster Brown and Yellow Kid material. I'm obviously doing this collecting thing wrong. -
That desk picture complete with tools, keyboard, glasses, and floss, indicates signs of a seriously industrious guy!

Amazing piece! The painted Gold Key covers for titles like Space Family Robinson, Magnus Robot Fighter, and Turok were over the top in quality. On a personal note, I would love to add one of the painted Turok covers to my collection. Anyone? Anyone?

I have a lot of Scooby Doo comic art from the 1970s, including some full stories and several more covers. I will try to contain my excitement over this thread and not spam too many pictures!

Perfect 1970s Gold Key cover. I have file copies of this obscure title because I collect weird stuff. I'm a huge fan of Gold Key material (art and comics) and I will try to post some of my original art soon. Thanks for starting this thread!

Do You Still Have Your First Piece of Original Comic Art?

Thanks Dan! Your collection of Wiseman art is beyond impressive. Maybe we should start a Wiseman thread on the boards? -
Great purchase - every panel is perfect!

Do You Still Have Your First Piece of Original Comic Art?

I still have my first piece of original comic art pictured below. I also have my second, and my third, and my fourth, and well, all of them. I'm good at buying but terrible at selling. This page from Dennis the Menace #46 was bought in the very early days of eBay and is inscribed by Al Wiseman to a fan. Years later, I also purchased page two of this story. Still looking for the other pages! -

Thanks Bob. The CGC boards are probably not the ideal venue to offer vintage comic pinbacks, but I love these little bits of celluloid and metal, and it's fun to expose other collectors to something that dovetails so nicely with old comic books. Maybe we shouldn't spread the word so that we can keep buying them on the cheap!
