  1. My recent ComicLink winning bids can charitably be called "eclectic":
  2. I donated several of my pins to Hud's collection, but I still have 5-6 examples that feature comic strip characters. Everything I have is shown on Hud's website - he has the best collection of this genre that I know about. It's cool that you like these pins - your junkpile is indeed wide and deep!
  3. Beautiful example! If I had seen this one on eBay, I would have cost one of us some money. My buddy Hud Baer loves these high school comic pinbacks, and he has a small website dedicated to this collecting corner: https://hudscollection.weebly.com/
  4. They are really fun books - I only wish that Barks did the covers...
  5. This is one of my favorite annual threads - it's a real pleasure to see all of the great acquisitions from 2021. Here are some of my favorite pick-ups over the past year:
  6. 2021 was a good year for my Walt Kelly collection. I always compete for quality Kelly books from Our Gang, Animal Comics, Pogo, and Four Color. I absolutely adore his work!
  7. It's been 15 years since I last added a Disney Firestone giveaway to my collection, and within the span of two weeks, I found two nice copies. The 1948 was purchased raw on eBay, purportedly from the Firestone archives, and the 1947 was purchased from a fellow boardie (thanks @Stingrayiii !). I'm still on the hunt for 1943, 1944, and 1945. Hopefully, I don't have to wait another 15 years to track these books down...
  8. My final book from 2021 was a 1948 Disney Firestone giveaway, and my first book of 2022 was a 1947 Disney Firestone giveaway. Great way to end the year and start a new year!
  9. I don't understand this "selling" concept that everyone keeps talking about. Explain to me how that works?
  10. Greg, did you see the hammer price on the Peanuts Christmas Sunday? 360K is staggering.
  11. The Promise Collection copy of GCW #3 is certainly nice, but I have to say that between the cover abrasion next to the G in Gangsters, the recessed staple, and the carousel of dust shadows, that 9.2 grade looks like a real gift. I think you dodged an over-graded book with this one...
  12. I like the Stickley bookcase as much as the contents!
  13. Really appreciate the pictures. It's been too long since I attended a good comic book convention. SDCC holds no interest for me but this Torpedo Con looks top notch. I'm aiming for OAFCON this fall. From what I hear, OAFCON is another old-school convention that focuses on the important things: comic books!
  14. Offered here is a sharp mid-grade copy of Batman 31. CGC 5.5 with white pages. CGC notes 1st appearance of Punch and Judy and Alfred backup story. Light spine roll on the top half of the book. Small date stamp below the front cover price. Bright, clean copy that will likely benefit if you want to press. A CGC 5.0 copy of Batman 31 with CR-OW pages sold for $540 on Heritage last week. I'm offering a higher grade copy with much better page quality for the same price: $540. Thanks!
  15. Hi Everyone, This is my first sales thread on the CGC boards. Please be gentle. General Rules No PL/HOS members. The first "take it" posted in the sales thread wins. If we reach a deal via PM, you need to post "take it" in the sales thread. If someone else takes the book in the thread before you, the earliest thread poster is the winner. Payment I accept PayPal, personal checks, and money orders for total sales under $1000. I only accept personal checks or money orders for total sales above $1000. When the thread is over, an invoice will be sent with payment instructions. Payment required within 10 calendar days of invoice or the book will be available for sale again. Shipping USA: You pay exact cost of USPS priority with signature required. Canada: You pay exact cost of FedEx delivery. USPS lost one of my insured (?) packages in Canada once upon a time and refused to pay the insured cost. Never again! Returns/Refunds I will accept returns on raw books within 30 days of your receipt of the books, as long as the books are returned to me in the same condition as I shipped. There are no returns on CGC graded books. If you need more pictures of a book, just let me know. About Me I've been collecting comics books since the 1980s. Expanded to original comic art in the 1990s. Also crazy about early comic-related memorabilia: pinbacks, premiums, posters, advertising, toys, books, etc. I try to channel @Robot Man with my collecting pursuits, but my collection is not nearly as broad, deep, or cool as his junkpile. eBay handle is lansdown. 4500+ feedback since 1998 with no negatives. I have had successful transactions on the CGC boards with @Ricksneatstuff, @goldenacase, @ft88, @Frisco Larson, @eyersman, @westform, @Eric10, @TC33, @Obrie2tm, @thejudge01, @Readcomix, and more. I also run a website where I document some of my early comic pinbacks: www.pinbacks.com
  16. I miss your posts as well, Mike. Hope everything is good in your world...
  17. The savvy buyer of batman_fan's testicle should do far better than buyers of books from this silly Promise collection...
