  1. I came across this on the Blimey! Blog by Lew Stringer. A press cutting from 1954, which is in some respects reports on the UK version of SOTI. What interested me though, was this is the area live in, which doesn't surprise me in the least, as that kind of mentality persists even now. Charles Miles sounds nice(!)
  2. I've watched episode 2 of Ray's videos, (my intention is to watch them in order, call me pernickety but,,,,) I do like the chaos of the presentation, which he sort of apologises for. I like the cat too, who wanted attention, but didn't really want to get up on the table really . The items weren't my kind of stuff, except perhaps Gregory the bat. I shall persist over the course of time

  7. He seems quite personable, and I like they fact that he waved at the end like a contestant Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? He has a lot of 70s furniture, ditto, gimme that teak veneer! And he appears to live his life in chaos to a degree. I like him. I've liked his vid, and may watch more, when I've a spare moment.

  14. This is one of the first films I can remember seeing, back in the mist of time, when British TV couldn't show a film unless it was at least 10 years after it's release date, so it must have been around 1960. When I think about it, the BBC had a lot of Charles Laughton movies, along with Robert Donat films, The Ghost Goes West being the one I particularly remember from then. I think Donat was a protégé of Laughton's, but don't quote me. I read the Notre Dame novel years later, Quasimodo's and Esmerelda's story was a secondary story to the actual history of the Cathedral itself.
