Not sure if anybody else took advantage ot the 5% off sale from MCS, but I did. I Try to never actually buy Four colors, but could not resist the 110 that they had. So now I have finished my first two hundred columns. The 1000's ( with 1065) and the 100's . The only other column I am close on is the 600's where I am missing 673.
The others that I picked up are 6 more of the missing Four COlors. I dont mind actually paying for those.

found a copy of this along with lists of my better boxes . took and traded a bunch of books at the first torpedo show down by LAX I think. At that time I was down to only 170 books which has now dropped to closer to 60.
The upgradables was not where near as refined. I am sure that in addition to filling 100+ holes I have upgraded at least that many.
WHile this list is much easier to look at, updating it was very cumbersome and after I got the names attached to the issue numbers became useful

Most of my single pages and the couple of superman stories came from formerly bound books that I purchased many years ago. they all have many holes on the left where they were laced together.
I think the only bound book I have is of the Citizenship one that came from Blissard

Struggled with my HP all-in-one, but was eventually able to get scans of an upgrade to the 379
While it is certainly much nicer than my existing copy, does not seem to be close to the advertised grade of 6.0. I would be hard pressed to give it above a 4.0 with the spine roll as well as all of the accumulated damage on the cover

I would certainly say this is a pedigree. The vast majority of the books are OO. Heck many of the Church books are not OO

As always I have my eye on 4Gems weekly heritage auctions this week is focusing on Johnny Mack Brown. Many are quite low, but there is still nearly 3 hours until the auction starts ( and of course the FOur colors are 400+ books in. I got several of my JMB's from BeerBohm thanks to the efforts of MMehdy
I have an upgrade for the Donald 379 shown below.
I have done a deeper dive into the data on my collection
I have 384 issues in 3.5 or below of which only 137 are above either price point
I have 681 issues between 4 and 7 of which only 225 are below price point
I have 215 issues in 7.5 or better. of those 154 are above the double price point

Wanted to publish the newest itteration of my cobmined Missing/Upgradable want list.
I added a date printed which I had on earlier sections, but had not included on this refinement.
Also added my name and phone number
Primariy changed the sorting paramaters
Included 3.5s. When I started adding upgrades about 5 years ago I think I was only up to 2.5's at that point.
I kicked any book that I have above my minimum price into a separate category. Actually gave another bump to those that have double that amount.
Still kept the page to six columns and 348 issues. Most of the last column are early low grade books that I have between 25-50 into.

While I am interested in the Story, I see no reason for a Kickstarter.
This collection is worth well over 10,000,000 and the documentary will greatly help the family promote and sell these assets. The benefit of this is for the Family.
They, not the public should be financing this project ( maybe give the documentarians 10 copies of each Star Wats 1 and Ghost rider 1

I snagged a couple of bargains from 4Gem's Heritage listings 1 was an upgrade but it went for well under guide. The other was 1065 which went for less than 1/2 of the other books I was missing. It was the only one of the 4 I was missing to not way out price me. Very happy to check that one off as it gives me my first HUNDRED actually completed the 1000's and a run of 138 in a row

added the first series and the first 99 sections along with a few internal audits, raised the PPA to 47.82 with all 1280 books entered . Current GPA is 4.812
Since I last published my combined missing/upgrade list I have knocked off 5 , but more dramatically I have eliminated 25 of the upgrade candidates. I am sure that I actually acquired some of those books, but most were because I increased their cost basis above the minimum hold value of 38 thus they fell off my active update candidate.
Well soon I will be faced with a dilemma. Do I keep my want list at a perpetual 6 columns of 58 or let it drop to only 5 columns? At least with 5 columns I will feel a sense of accomplishment and expand some of the remaining columns. If I keep 6 columns do I increase the grade to 3.5? do I raise the minimum hold value and try to upgrade a more expensive book where I already have 50 into my 2.5 copy? The current structure filled the empty space in numeric order if the book is either under 3.5 or under the hold value. This means that all 30 spots are filled with 00's which I was fortunate to find at all, but will not likely upgrade

Hi All-
I hope your year end is going well. This week Heritage is auctioning off my Santa/Frosty related issues. While overall my books have been going at a pretty good price there is always at least one issue a week that goes for less than what I paid. Last weeks the Francis issues were up for auction and given how scarce they are in high grade I'm surprised a few went as cheap as they did. Anyway, here is a link to this week's Santa/Frosty issues if you want to taje a look. These are very tough to find in high grade.
You can view my entire consignment in auction #122250 at the following link: http://comics.ha.com/c/search.zx?saleNo=122250&collection=51&FC=0&type=friend-consignorpreview-notice
Hey Glen
Nice to see you in this thread again, even if it is to pimp your own auctions. I wwas gonig to comment the heritage did a nice job in offering your Xmas books right before the holiday
I try to bid on all of your books that are either missing or significant upgrades. Unfortunately I am rarely available to bid live so i rarely win. I believe I am top bidder on 7 books, mostly upgrades, as I type this but have tapped out on two of the books that I am still missing. Adding your former books will certainly raise both the Grade Point Average (GPA?) and Price Point Average (PPA?) of my collection

Entered the 100's up to 1236 books costed. As I had hoped the falling has turned around and the average is now up to 46.41 with only the First 100 and First series to go. AS I have shifted to using Heritage as a trading partner I am getting more slabbed books for my collection. I am now up to 9 in each the 00's and 100's

All but the SHowcase 8 close today so last bump
Adventure 247 is moving up nicely and is at 1550 with 3 hours
Remember if you win anything I will give you books worth at least 10% of the hammer price

priced and entered the 300's and 200's. now up to 1201 with "costs" entered. FOr these columns I had to enter way more than I had previously entered and raised the average costs significantly, I found missing books like 386 which I had won off ebay well prior to my actually collecting the series. Still one of my favorite covers and likely my first slab purchases with a PLOD 6.0. Even with this the average continued to fall , but only down to 45.31. I am projecting that the additions in the first series and first 200 of the second will actually increase the average
coming across many from current or former board members Reality Consensus, Catrick , fiberbisket, Honky Cat, ft88, and House of COmics. All of these trades were totally by mail and email and each of which resulted in the addition of 26+ books
Included below is one of the lowest grade books. It has been on my upgrade list since I first created it. Still have to thank shark for plugging the 228 hole

I kind of got carried away. There is a story behind each of them. I now am thinking the Australian SC8 cover is not Cinf. The Nembo Kid is the "Coldest man on Earth" story. I keep thinking I should sell some of them but can never decide which ones so back in the box they go until next time, and if you think this is bad wait until i put up my SC13s.
Quite a group shot there Terry. I had two of those myself, but both with restoration. I am currently selling the undercopy on Heritage this weekend. A nice 6.0 to slot in between the 5 and the 6.5 . The 8.0 is my Keeper

I have the same handwritten #1 on my JLA

My undercopy of Adventure 247 is on sale now at heritage..
I believe it is the one that has been my avatar since I joined this site.

My undercopy of Showcase 8 is in this weeks listings from Heritage.
It is only a 6.0 and has restoration
My keeper is an 8.0 sadly also restored.
That green cover was very hard to keep in any grade

That was about all I saved as well, but better the money in my pocket than theirs.
There is a tab called ON SALE and that is where you enter the code word.
They currently have 24 of the books I am missing in stock, but I think 20 of them would be below/grade/price point and would go right from missing to upgrade.
MCS seems to have the best website around for the average or advanced collector. I think it is very nice for them to scour the internet ( or at least ebay) to see if your want list books are for sale elsewhere.
