Well I started reading as a kid. I think I was reading from about 65 through 70. I read only DC, but had a couple marvels.
I read and saved my books Adventure, Action, Superman, JLA and to a lesser extent Flash and GL.In the late 70's I found out that comics had value, but back then none of mine were worth much.
A friend introduced me to a comic book store and the owner got me interested in Crisis on Infinte Earths right aout the time that the FLASH died. That was in 85. I restarted collecting then and soon discovered that the best way to build a collection was to buy collections, keep what I wanted and try to sell off the rest.
I did that for about seven years, and then after the LA earthquake of 94, put the collecting aside for several years until ebay.

I am very glad I got most of my silver age books a long time ago, b4 most collectors were looking for them

thanks for the link. Now ZOOM is tied for 2nd and just one vote from first.

don't think I have posted in this thread. I have many of the early flashes scanned

Here is the second Hawkman tyrout series Seems like no matter how DC tries, Hawkman just cannot make it as a title character for more than a few years at a time
-
Not sure when I posted here last, but the JLA was always one of my favorite books, and one of the first runs I attempted to complete. I am sure I have posted the #1 so here are a few early ones.

A couple more scans from my collection:
DIdn't you post this in another thread
-
lets try the first hawkman run
-
amazing how big a part of the series was devoted to Westerns.
32 of your 40 books are Westerns.
To help balance it out here are a Trio of Fudd's

Just got another 30+ in from a new trading partner fiberbiskit. Have not processed them and added to lists yet. Hope to do so in the next week or so. I also have a few more trades in process, so I hope to break 800 by the end of September.
In the mean time here are a few more from my last update.

I am sure that I could come up with some Four COlors that could tempt me, but honestly not very many.
here are a few more B & B's

the rest of the trio

i have not looked at this thread in several years. Time to post some more of mine.
At one time I had three of these. one was really low grade and traded it off to an ebay seller for 16 Four colors. That one had come in a lot from the awful ebay seller Popscomics
got the other two graded by pgx and traded the lower grade one along with a few other books at SDCC for 47 Four Colors.

another later golden age Adventure

here are a couple of others that I recently finished processing.

I have not posted here in a long time. Finally got my Four Colors back under control. I am up to 750 issues, and am working on a few deals that will break 800. Did we ever get scans of each issue displayed?
Here is a list to my Thank you's in a WTTF thread.

Here are a couple of the later issues that I got from Mile High

I don't have scans available, but Bryne swiped his own FF4 249 cover for his cover of Superman 8.
I am sure that someone can find and post these twins

had not looked at this thread in a while.

I watched LOTG and Time tunnel as a Kid. I enjoyed all of the Irwin Allen Sci Fi
I enjoy the photo covers as well
-
I love the Gold Key's, especially the painted covers
-
here are my membership cards
-
here is my copy.
sadly it has amatuer color touch on the spine
-
Almost inconcievable that I would ever complete either of these with TRADES only. I am sure that I will be able to get over 1000, but I may run out of worthwhile trade books at some point.
Also some of them will be just very hard to find and expensive in the first place.
Here are the new ones from page 6

I am trying to go through my photobucket account and post the new additions page by page. I now have 19 pages of scans. These are from page 5.
Flash collectors thread
in Silver Age Comic Books
Posted
I remember at some of the early shows you could get silver age flash for $ a book in nice shape. I know I got one with a samurai on the cover for that price.
I also remember trading with another dealer for my first copy of this
Still one of my favorite covers of all time. Heck I even enjoy all of the homages to this book
