  1. I have much more of a connection with the movie/tv tie in issues. They tend to be the later ones and were often shows that I grew up with.

I remember 77 Sunset Strip (snap) and "Kookie lend me your comb". When I moved out to LA in '77 I ended up living within a mile or so from the location for the front of the building. It was in West Hollywood and had an address of more like 8777 Sunset BLVD.

  2. here are a few that I had on photobucket.

I think that the 11 was the first appearance of the GL Corps on the cover.

The 17 is one of the books from my original collection. When I got back into collecting I put the little green dot on the bag of my original books co that I could easily recognize them later

  3. nice books. So do/did you actually own those or are they just the scans of the covers from you scanning project?

I only have one book from your list of wants. If I get the chance i wll scan #33 for you, but it will take a while

here is the next set of books. I have quite a few more books to put up, but I switched over to scanning my Classics collection for the next few weeks.

  4. I remember seeing Authorized Edition on many of the Movie Tie-ins.

Here are another group to check off the list. As I was uploading I realized that i had accidentally been allowing Flock to shrink the book to 800 pixels instead of the 1024. I went back and replaced the smaller scans with the size i had intended.

I spent quite a bit of time fixing my HP software to work with IE 7 but now i am finally able to scan as cropped jpegs instead of uncropped tif's which is saving me time in the editing. I hope to have another box scanned within a week or so, but not until after the NEBRASKA vs UCS game

I realize that the are not what they once were but After rooting for a team for 40+ years I have no intention of changing now. GO BIG RED!!!!!!!

  5. I think it was fairly decent. I looked back in my checkbook and found that I paid 415 for the book which was done through Safe Trade. I looked back to see if I had any more details, but I did not keep the ebay page and lost all of my emails prior to 2001.

I would guess that the book was graded about VG so I was happy.

here is another fairly early purchase. looks like I will have to rescan this one as the scan is nowhere near shapr enough

  6. I have finished scanning/editing/uploading box 4 out of 4 of my Four Color Collection. This should leave me with quite a few books to post as the end of the run is by far the weakest represented here.

I was wondering if the 15 cent price tag on these mid range books was due to them being Canadian editions? It seemed to me that the Standard price did not increase to .15 until issue 1179

You have to post those Mary Jane books on the four color thread. I do not think that they are there yet.

Mary Jane is a magic dust sniffer........Hmmm should that issue have been # 420.

I enjoyed seeing the Punch book again with the BARE BREASTED cover. I am surprised that they were able to slip that one by whatever censors were operating back then.

SInce I an in the Four Color mode here in another with a real female on the cover.

  8. Thanks for tracking this Monty.

I think we are actually doing quite well. We already have all but 4 of the first 200.

I just scanned another 50 books last night, but I still need to edit them and upload them.

in the meantime here are another 4 you can fill in on your list.

I also posted the 769 Gunsmoke. We already have it, but this copy looked so pretty that I wanted to show it off

  9. I was going through some old scans that i had done, but not edited with my original scanner from over 5 years ago and found many of my original Four color books in with the Dells. I cropped and sized and uploaded about 40 yesterday so I should have several available that have not been displayed yet.
