I had a bit of bad timing for my pre-screen shipment. The info was sent to FedEx on the 15th but they did not pick it up before the long weekend, so it is still sitting. Hopefully it will be picked up today so it has a chance of getting to me this weekend. I imagine all of the delivery services are backed up more than usual due to the holiday.
Can't complain at all though since I wasn't expecting this group to be graded for a few more weeks. Even with the long delivery time I am still well ahead of the curve on this one.

I had the same issue with some books I sent to get pressed in May 2021. I got an email from customer service which had much better results. I will say that when I was first billed I called and had a CS rep verify that my submission was scanned in before that first cutoff last spring. That may have expedited the refund.
The email was accounting@cgccomics.com I hope it works out for you.
Thank you, this is very helpful!

My modern pre-screen that went into SFG on 29 Jan 2022 just hit G/E/I on 13 Apr 2022. I have been very impressed on the turnaround times for my pre-screens so far.
Interestingly, my slow track modern that also went into SFG on 29 Jan, same day as the pre-screen, is still in SFG. This is the second time in a row that my pre-screens were done faster than regular slow track submissions.
Worth noting that everything I have sent in so far has been significantly faster than the promised TATs on the web site. Kudos to the graders, they are really motoring right now.
Went to QC on 14 April, just marked as shipped 15 April.
They made a mistake in the billing and it is almost impossible to get through right now, but hopefully I can get that done soon. I did the order prior to the price changes and I think they may have used the new pricing.

The modern pre-screen just flipped to Grading/QC, 14 Apr 2022.

How would they know it's Fast Track when it's not written on the box?
You write it on the box, like I did

FAST TRACK ECONOMY 10 items in the cue to be opened...will probably get these back before the slow economy received in september
Do you (or anyone) know whether Fast Track books are opened sooner than ones in the slow track? CGC does not promise a quicker opening for these books (unlike higher tiers like walk through), but it seems to make sense to move them a bit higher in the triage since people are paying extra for faster service.

Was the grading as expected?
Its been so long for me I dont know what to expect anymore.
This question was not directed at me, but I had three batches of books come back from CGC in the past couple of weeks and I feel the grading was very fair. A couple of disappointments and a few pleasant surprises mixed in with a large majority of books landing where I thought they would land.

It really depends on the show and the clientele. In my area wall books don't sell at all, but there is a steady stream of people who thumb through boxes looking to fill out their runs. In larger cities close by the sellers typically sell a lot of big books. I would ask someone who has done the show before to see what sells and then go from there.

I don't know. reading some of the BBB posts it seems it does make them move a bit. This is so disappointing but revealing. This was a first time submission, a test run to see if I could trust them for additional submissions...and by additional I mean a couple hundred over the next few years. I'm not ready for the grave yet but with no relatives interested to pass my collection along to, I planned on grading the best of my 6000+ collection so it was easier to dispose of when the time comes (hopefully in a couple decades down the road!!!). So much for Plan A...
If it is a matter of setting the graded books aside for years or even decades the turnaround times shouldn't really matter too much. Long turnarounds impact the most on people who are rolling short term spec books.

I sent some books to Comiclink back in February for the April 14th auction. The books have been in the auction preview for about a month now, but there the books have no description. They are not super expensive books, but I see other books that are worth less that have descriptions. I see some books that say "2nd highest graded". One of the books I sent in is tied for highest graded, but it is not noted.
I sent an email last week asking if they were going to put a description for the books, but I have not received a reply.
Was I supposed to type up a description and send it to them when I sent the books? I appreciate any input.
For some books things like "2nd highest graded" doesnt matter. If it is a run filler that is a 9.6 and there are no 9.9s or 10s in the census it is in the second highest grade for that book, but the buyers wont really care about that when making their bids. In terms of descriptions they follow what is on the slab itself. So if CGC noted it as a news stand they will put news stand in the description, but if CGC did not note it they will not note it either.

As an update, I contact customer support about this book plus another that had really bad newton rings and they were absolutely fantastic and very helpful. Both will be re-holdered.

Hi folks,
My second and third shipment from CGC arrived this morning via FedEx and I discovered one of the books on the end was damaged during shipping. This is clearly a shipping issue and not a CGC issue. For those of you who have had issues like this - what have you done? Will CGC re-slab the book? I dont see any damage to the book itself, thankfully, but who knows it may end up dropping down from a 9.8 if the book was scratched.

Out of curiosity were they all the same tier/speed? My last MODERN SLOW got horrible grades. My last MODERN FAST got expected grades. Wondering if they are maybe giving the books you pay more to grade to the experienced graders and the cheap stuff to the newbies...
Out of my last three modern slows I got roughly the grades I was expecting (there are always a couple higher and a couple lower).

Things are definitely flying now.
Just has a package of pre-screen slow track moderns that arrived on March 21 enter in to SFG. They are saying they are opening packages from the week of the 7th but it seems they are going faster than that unless I got lucky.

It is a tough market to figure out investment choices since many of the bigger keys are sky high right now. I dont have a crystal ball or anything, but I cant see everything sticking at current market prices.
My personal opinion is a lot of the early Batman keys, particularly GA ones, are solid investments right now. Yes, they are jumping in price but they have been undervalued for a long time so it is more of a market correction than anything.

No labels. Apparently it does make a small difference based on what others have said, but I have never used the label option.

Thanks for the update! My WK has changed to G/E/I, so hopefully this one is completed this week. The other Modern FT order, guess we pray and hope to get that back sometime this year. LOL!
I am about to send in a modern FT in a couple of days from now. Based on what people here are saying it is exceptionally fast once it hits SFG, but the slow part right now is it is taking a month or more to even get the boxes open and into the system. Once this backlog clears out though it should be pretty smooth sailing.
Considering selling my Detective Comics # 1 8.5

All of those are blue chips keys and will likely continue to climb. Maybe less so with the Tec 1, and the ASM 1 seems to be climbing out of proportion due to the current market, but the others. If you can afford to keep them I recommend doing so.
