Is the stain (?) noticeable in the "t" of 'Astonishing' leeching through from the inside? 3.0 here, but would be interested to know what it would grade.
I’ll take another look but I don’t recall anything in the way of stains on the inside cover.

Great one! 3.5 is a good guess, that seems about right.
(Also, I suspect some color touch in the S and T of the logo... seems like there's color loss somehow bobbing and weaving around the black lines.)
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll have to break out the magnifying glass but I never noticed any ct🤔

He is a board member and that book is on the rise
That’s only slightly less than a 6.5 sold for a few nights ago (although it had some rust on staples/paper)

I thought some of you might enjoy these... the middle one is the first-ever appearance of Bone and Thorn in print, signed by Jeff Smith. As you probably already know Thorn: Tales from the Lantern collected many of Jeff's strips from the Ohio State Lantern newspaper. These are strips cut from that newspaper. Some of these strips were considered too risqué or controversial to collect in the Thorn book, just as much of the Thorn book was considered too risqué or controversial to reprint in the Bone comic series...

I bought a sweet book from Goldust40 (great seller, by the way) and it arrived from the U.K. in half the time it takes to receive packages from two states over.

I do not know, nor have I done business with, any of the parties involved here. But as someone who was recently stiffed by a (different) well-known seller on these boards, I can understand where BuscemasAvengers is coming from. BA upheld his end of the deal, and if he returns the book as some people have suggested, he not only loses the book that he negotiated for, a book he clearly fancies and wants in his collection, he also loses his time and perhaps money on shipping and insurance to return said book to the seller.
All TopCity needs to do is get Polonsky his dang refund, and get BA a replacement book or cash equivalent. I'm guessing he's already lost ten times that amount in potential future sales based on this whole fiasco.

I don't understand why people make proclamations of fact with complete confidence when it is just conjecture. The sale of the Tomb of Dracula #10 9.9 in the 2019 auction did indeed complete for $85,000 in the Summer 2019 Featured Auction. The purchaser in that auction is reselling it in the upcoming one.

I’m curious, is it a $60 flat rate for shipping?

I wonder if the seller was just trying to gauge the market and what people were willing to pay, but did not want to take the risk that the book would sell for way less than his bottom line...

Well, hopefully this last bit clarifies that you were indeed "screwed". Makes you even question whether he even got the check or not. If you tell one lie, you'll tell two. If you'll tell two, well, on and on...
He definitely got the check. He sent it back to me. Whether or not he had it all along--or, at the very least, earlier than he claimed--is still the subject of some speculation.

It's always been strange to me. People totally flush their reputations and their ability to sell on these boards for such small amounts, relatively speaking. Hope the grand or two or whatever was worth it.
*Not talking about Reece. Obviously they did nothing wrong.
I agree wholeheartedly. I had purchased one book from him a few months earlier. If he hadn't pulled this stunt with the BB113, I would most definitely have been a repeat customer.

Ah, so likely Rick sold the book to Reese's? I understand now, thank you. I've had very good experiences buying from Reece's over the years, wanted to confirm.
Sorry, I should have made that clear from the get-go. In no way am I attempting to lump Reece's Rare Comics in with Rick Starr. I've never dealt with Reece, although we've chatted about his books from time to time, and as far as I can tell he seems like a straight shooter.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond. I am going to test out the BCW bin. Now I wonder if anyone has tried storing them sideways so the books lie flat🤷♂️

I use the BCW bins as well, for both raws and slabs. They are sturdy, handsome, have interlocking dividers to keep comics from falling or sliding around, and the tops can be sealed shut by deadbolt style sliders, which is helpful when you have little kids who don't think twice about grabbing a stack of comics and whipping them down a flight of stairs.
Some of my slabs are in mylar and they fit fine.
Boy, for my money, it just doesn't get any better than BCW bins.
Sounds good. Thanks for the update on the Mylars. That definitely helps!

Yessir. I checked the label number.

I would go with BCWs Short Comic Book BINS. I transitioned all my books over, they're super high quality and really sturdy. If you're trying to accommodate for the mylites it should be more than enough room in the CGC size bin. They have really nice solid plastic dividers that are adjustable and stay in place and they have locking lids. I know they're like $25/bin (they're actually cheaper than the corrugated plastics boxes though), but if you're putting high value slabs in it's worth it to buy a high value storage solution. Here's what they look like:
Sorry, I am not knowledgeable in these. This bin is what I was referring to in my original post when I stated "plastic boxes". For the people who own this type, are they at all flimsy as some people stated about other plastic boxes? If anyone else owns this type, do you think there is a little bit of room to accommodate slabs that are inside Mylites?
