Sent him the book in 2019
After numerous calls and emails I get an email in 2022 saying “Your book is started and I will send you updates as it goes along
Then nothing.
At this point I know it is gone. And spending Lawyer money is a waste of time. If he filed for bankruptcy then it is all over. He becomes immune.Oh well expensive lesson
FYI he recently posted an AF15 on his IG. Could this be yours?

All Famous Police Cases #11 is a favorite Cole of mine. I love his attempts to do sequential storytelling on the cover, as in the case of Thrilling Crime #49.
Totally agree. I like it just as much if not more than TC49

Amazing pics of those classics! I'd maybe squeeze Perfect Crime #23 in somewhere, and then I'd say you're golden.
I am also a big fan of that one! And if anyone has one up for grabs, please let me know...

That same copy has been listed on Clink for a while now with an ask of $54k... and that original listing is still up. There are now 3 copies up for sale: the 7.5, a 5.0, and a 2.5.

He also announced an upcoming Kickstarter to reprint all his early Bone comic strips from his college days.
Wow! That's great to hear! Would love to read all of these! Hopefully there will be great add-ons like the Tuki KS
I seem to recall that Jeff drew another comic strip during his college years, I believe it had a cat?

I made the drive to see Jeff Smith in Sedona, AZ. Jeff Smith talked and gave a presentation for about an hour. He covered the origins and evolution of Bone, talked about his new project Tuki, and shared some photos from conventions past. It was such an enjoyable event. He then spent about an hour signing and doing sketches for everyone. I suggest following him on IG and joining him in CA if you can, I think he has an appearance or two coming up.
The photos have an odd green tint from the lighting in the room. But here's the promo ad, the first drawing of Bone, and an early cartoon strip. I have more photos if anyone is interested. I got the Bone omnibus, 1st 3 Bone Adventures TPBs, and Rasl hardcover books all signed. They also did a raffle (I won some Tuki prints) and handed out free bookmarks and a Tuki pin.

I believe the last photo shows the first-ever meeting of Fone and Thorn. I posted the clipping from the OSU Lantern above (signed my Jeff). It’s interesting how the characters changed in the comic series. In the Lantern, some of the characters were a bit risqué.

Some of the strips were reprinted in the Before Bone book that was published in 2008 but that was limited to 500 copies and it would probably be expensive to purchase. You can find the individual strips in the archives of The Lantern somewhere on OSU’s website.

The QR code (if that's what you mean by barcode) was added on the back in mid-2022.

That’s what I meant 😂. Thanks!

Does anyone know when CGC added a little barcode to the back of their slab labels?

Thanks for the reply. There isn’t a piece missing, but a ding on the top edge that could possibly be pressed back into place. I have a piece of white micro chamber paper inserted behind the cover, so that might give the appearance of a piece missing from that edge as well as the pages.

Thanks for the reply. There isn’t a piece missing, but a ding on the top edge that pushed the edge down and caused it to bunch up (see photo below). There’s a chance this could be pressed back into place, I suppose . HERO RESTORATION - BOOKS NOT BEING RETURNED
in Comics General
Posted · Edited by thewritestuff
I’m sorry for all those who are in limbo. If any one of those high priced books were mine, I’d fly to Oregon and go to his house to demand the books back that instant. I’d deal with the money later. I wonder if a group can do just that and “liberate” your books from him.
if he owed me 12k I’d be asking for his car keys or seek to put a lien on his house.
