Thank you. That's good advice. In my effort to be transparent in condition, I realize that I made the threads much lengthier than necessary.

That's it for the moment. I will see if there's any interest and go from there...

How about some Baker babes! Matt Baker Western comics lot. These are all pretty rare... I've only seen one copy of The Hawk 10, a 4.5 on Feebay, and the seller is looking for $850/best offer (with shipping). I would say these all fall in the VG /VG- range, but PLEASE view the photos carefully and see if you agree. These are recent pickups, but like all of my Golden Age comics, they have been kept in Gerber Mylites with Gerber fullbacks and sheets of micro chamber paper inserted in each book. The lot of 3 can be yours for

Terrors of the Jungle 17 CGC 5.5. Technically, this is the first issue in the run. As per usual, the numbering is crazy. This looks better than a 5.5 to me Nice colors and page quality on this still-underrated jungle/horror cover, one of the best in the Terrors of the Jungle title.
$1600$1500 and it's yours.- Hutch88, mrlatko, Point Five and 3 others

International Crime Patrol 6... one of only 18 universal copies on the census. Is this the rarest E.C. Comic? If not, it must be close. Here is a great looking 6.5 with an excellent color strike and desirable off-white/white pages. I am pricing this $1,000 LESS than a 7.0 that sold at Heritage (that is less than a .5 grade bump!), and that one had c/ow pages.

Here’s the fine print:
CONUS only, unless we have agreed on other arrangements ahead of time.
ABSOLUTELY NO PL/Hall of Shamers, or probies. The first “Take” wins. A definite "I'll take it" in the thread trumps pending negotiations. I'm sure most of you know the routine. Please review photos carefully and ask any questions beforehand.
If you are local to the Boston area and are willing to pick up, cash is always king. Otherwise, I accept instant payment via PayPal. That's it.
SHIPPING:
Unless a different method is agreed upon beforehand, shipping in the CONUS will be USPS Priority $20 for raw or graded books with both insurance and signature required, unless specified otherwise. For bundle deals, we will have to work out something on shipping ahead of time. Again, U.S. only unless we talk first.
Returns are fine within 7 days of receipt for raw books, but Buyer must cover return costs, and items must be returned in their original condition.

Brilliant minds think alike.
I've always thought that, too, but it makes it seem less scary to me because of it. There's another cover that is similar (I cannot recall the title at the moment) of a corpse hunkering in wait behind a headstone, and that one also looks like a monk.

what's written between the T & E in terror? Is that a distribution mark? Really sharp looking. Colors look vibrant. I'd want to make sure their wasn't a tanning/foxing issues on the inside of covers, etc. My interpretation of CGC guidelines is that pinch/tear is a moderate defect, which makes it a 7.0. That said, every time I make a guess about a GA comic it's too low, so it makes me think CGC's guidelines for GA comics are more lenient than those for other eras. 7.5±0.5 and the streak will be intact when it comes back at 8.5
Thanks for the feedback. I would be thrilled if it came in close to your target of 8.0 or 8.5. I will have to take a closer look at the writing in the logo...

Googled him and found this thread. There's a reason I Googled him. He purchased a few books from me, seemed like a nice enough fellow, and it was a fast, friendly, problem-free transaction. At least the first time, but he later became completely sketchy and unreliable when we tried to do a subsequent transaction that he initiated. Just excuse, after excuse, after excuse. Obviously, I didn't have quite the same problems as the ones posted here because I was selling and not buying, but he creates enough of a hassle that I wouldn't wish to do business with him again.

Loving these suggestions! Thanks, everyone, for contributing ideas and especially full stories.
I’ve got some happy hunting to do.

I enjoy reading the old precode horror stories, even the cheesy ones (especially the cheesy ones?) , but I am wondering if people could share their favorites. I've collected some books for the amazing artwork, and others just for the stories... maybe I can find the best of both worlds? If anything, at least I am looking forward to some spooky stories for the fall season.
Please post suggestions below, and thank you for your time.

Does anyone have a reasonable explanation for why my shipping costs were so high on this order? The most I've been charged for shipping from ComicLink before this was $22, and the price for shipping two books was always the same as shipping one. I paid $22 quite recently for shipping one book, so that's what I was expecting. If the site had given me a choice of shipping options, I would have selected the cheapest option. (I don't remember being given a choice.)
(I e-mailed CLink about this, but so far I've only gotten an auto-reply.)
Have others had high shipping costs this time?
I complained to ComicLink about this. At a certain value, around $4k to $6k, they charge roughly $60 to $70+ for ONE book. It’s the same box as a $100 book. What’s worse, I live about 2 hours from CLInk, and that “express” shipping takes 2-3 days (sometimes longer) to reach me. 7/10 times the packages arrive beat to hell, and CLink promised a stronger box several times but never happens.

Nice video. Nothing wrong with this "variant" and nothing wrong with influencers, shops.. buying huge stacks of these. Everyone is just a hater
Funny thou like mentioned here this all started from one exhibitor being mad that he did not get one even thou he was in the line before even VIP access opened. Does anybody care for the normal attendees?!? What is the point of buying VIP tickets to these conventions?!? Maybe there is some additional benefits but getting those low print exclusives definitely ain't one of those.
I was thinking the same thing. Sadly there’s only one decent show in my area—Little Giant Show—and they charge extra for early admission, and even then I hear multiple dealers gloating about what they scooped up before the doors opened.
I don’t care about variants, but if an exclusive is advertised, then it should be available to those who paid to attend rather than the dealers and influence-flippers.

I am selling this extremely rare first printing of Henchgirl, which was originally self-published by artist/creator Kristen Gudsnuk in 2013. This is also signed by Gudsnuk on the top of the front cover (personalized "To Nick"). This comic has never been cleaned or pressed. There are a few tiny color breaks along the spine/near the staples, a small spot of soiling on the back cover, and a crease toward the bottom right of the cover. As is, I'd put this comic at a solid VF/VF- with the potential for a higher grade if someone wants to try and press out the crease and clean the small soil spot off the back cover., but please view the photos and make your own assessment as to the condition.

CLOSED A few Golden Age rarities for sale: L.B. Cole, Matt Baker, Early Silver Age FF 1st Namor
in Golden/Silver/Bronze Age Only
Posted · Edited by thewritestuff
These are original remaindered Silver Age comics with partial reproduction (upper) covers (roughly top 40% of front cover) attached to the original bottom and back covers. I was told the repro covers were attached some time in the late 1970s or early 1980s and the previous owner then purchased these when he was a kid, as is , from a comic shop in PA. With Namor set to appear in the MCU, and the Fantastic Four on the horizon, these are sure to be in high demand.
$2100$2000 for the pair.$2,100 for the pair.
