  1. Sigh. https://reececomics.com/product/blue-bolt-113-cgc-7-0-white-pages/
  2. Hello, fellow collectors. I typically store my slabbed books in the larger CGC/magazine-sized cardboard boxes. The smaller CGC boxes will not accommodate my slabs since they are all kept in large Mylites for extra protection from dust and scratches. Some people have recommended the BCW "acid-free" plastic boxes for slabs. I was wondering if these can accommodate a slab that is stored in a Mylite? Also, in general I am wondering how people feel about these plastic storage boxes vs. the traditional cardboard storage boxes? Thanks!
  3. I know this aren't really traditional pulps, but I was wondering if these pulp-y magazines with the lurid covers are rare and/or desired by collectors?
  4. I was eyeing a couple things in this current auction. I called a few hours ago and spoke to the shipping manager. He told me $60 minimum if the value is over $2k...? ( I live about a two hour drive from CLink)
  5. I got charged $25 several months back, and then $39 a couple of months ago. They told me they will ONLY ship express from now on, and that the price has actually gone up to $60 minimum as of a month ago.
  6. I’m curious, do these companies suggest the stickers to the consignor, and if so, does anyone know how often? How much do they charge for the sticker/service?
  7. Over the course of a month, I emailed two different people with the.same back photo request, and sadly neither even bothered to respond. On their own suggestion, they also promised that they’d a sturdier package after I’ve had issues with damaged packages/slabs. but they never followed through. All that aside, I like the company but they can be very inconsistent.
  8. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall the last 6.0 copy of Beyond sold for around $3k a while back. Either way, that’s a very cool cover. It reminds me of Baker for some reason.
  9. I like Heritage the best. Their site is easy to navigate and you can really zoom in on the comics. CLink’s refusal to declare hidden defects and/or post back cover photos has soured me on bidding there. ComicConnect is okay, but their offerings just haven’t appealed to me for about a year now. Also, the last book I won on ComicConnect came with a crack on the slab. Their consignment rep told me “not to worry about it’.
  10. There can’t be too many of these around... All Famous Police Cases #1 . This is an Australian variant.
  11. I wondered about that myself. I also know the 7.5 belonged to a boardie who offered the book to me not long before this RS fiasco. He must be overjoyed with the auction results.
  12. Epilogue: I want to post a quick update that I just received my unopened envelope (containing my check for payment) from RICK STARR/John T. My envelope was postmarked on October 14, however, John attached a note stating that he received it on October 31. Hopefully this ties up any loose ends...
  13. Thanks for the feedback. Taking another look, perhaps oil slick is a poor choice of words. It looks like some places have higher gloss reflectivity that makes those places stand out in certain angles in the light?
  14. A pretty solid copy, overall. Defects visible in the photos, mostly top right cover (front) and some discoloration spots on the back, along with some "wrinkles" lower right. Just looking for a ballpark. Thanks in advance!
  15. I love, love, love this cover! There are strange shiny pattern on the the front cover (visible in the photo of the top right corner, but also appears near the bottom of the ghoul's chin). It looks like maybe these are higher gloss spots? They are visible at certain angles in the light. If you look at the last photo of the top right corner, you can see the curve of this pattern from the "o" in "into" to the "n" in "Unknown"... perhaps this is due to whatever polybag this was stored in before I got it? I have seen this sort of pattern on back covers after being stored with crappy backboards... the kind that yellow and leech some color from the comic over time. In fact, if you see the back cover photo, you can sort of see this ovular pattern of discoloration along the top and bottom edge. Does anyone know what this is from? It doesn't look like moisture damage, at least not what I've seen. There is a slight blur of the red letters on the back (not sure if this is overspray?) and some discoloration, mostly visible around the edges, particularly the top. Page quality looks consistent throughout, centerfold attached. Any help is appreciated!
