  1. I recently emailed DTA through eBay to see if he was aware of the other seller listing the same item. He said he has a contract with the other seller? I’m guessing it’s a win-win for the DTA. If an unaware buyer sees the lower listing (not realizing the higher priced listing is the exact same book) maybe they will jump on the lower listing, thinking they got a great deal. If by some chance a buyer purchases the higher priced listing, the other guy makes a commission and DTA still gets his desired price, but the buyer is unaware he/she paid extra for a commission.
  2. This exact same book sold one month ago on eBay for $500, right down to the stain on the back cover (see sold items on eBay). I think the buyer/new seller will be happy with pocketing $2,000 profit one month later. also, the seller of the “$12k” copy bought it raw on eBay for around 3k. He’s only trying to grab a measly $9k profit. 😂
  3. I am just curious if anyone else feels that it's strange to lump Gold, Silver, and Bronze Age comics in one sales thread?
  4. This is a Superior (Canadian) variant of the Fiction House counterpart. It appears as though there are none on the census.
  5. I’m sorry if this has been discussed before, but is anyone knowledgeable in the FH/Superior Canadian variants? I have a copy of Cowgirl Romances 12 that is one such variant, but I could not find much useful information, and there does not appear to be any on the census.
  6. Hello, and thanks in advance. These photos were taken sans flash in low light. They both look great in hand in spite of the flaws, which are mostly limited to the back covers. #7 has a small somewhat discreet tear on top edge. #12 has a tiny puncture and somewhat discreet tear on right edge. Neither book has been cleaned or pressed
  7. The eBay copy is now the cgc graded copy for sale on these boards in the GA for sale section (for only slightly more than twice the cost of what it was purchased for😆) and I just saw this on Instagram that Someone just sold a Manhunt 12 5.5 graded by one of those other companies. I have a feeling the buyer of the CC copy won’t be too thrilled to know two higher graded copies just popped up a few months after his “one of a kind” purchase.
  8. It’s sad when paying customers are satisfied by mediocrity. If the best you can say about a product is “it could’ve been worse”, that really says something about the product itself. I have lots of books I’d like to get slabbed, but I’d rather wait until these issues are resolved... even if that means they never get slabbed. I prefer to spend my money on more books, rather that a blotchy slab that mutes the beauty of the book inside.
  9. 119 was the issue that started my interest in Golden Age. Here are my three copies, two raw and one slabbed. NFS
  10. Last one for now. I’ll be closing this thread around 8 PM tonight, so dm me if you would like to make an offer. Crime Mysteries is a title that has been on fire, and one that shows no signs of slowing down. This VG copy of 15 features the infamous acid-in-the-face cover. overall a solid copy, with visible stress color breaks, esp. around the staples, as well as some doodles on the cvr—at least the moon seems amused by everything. Crime Mysteries 15 $550
  11. Uncle Sam Quarterly 7 VG+/F with a stern Uncle Sam staring down a puny Hitler and company. Apparently manufactured with one staple in the middle, with some stress tears near the staple, the centerfold just holding on to the one staple, and as an added bonus, that narcissistic d-bag Gordon’s signature right on Sam’s forehead. Uncle Sam Quarterly 7 $475
  12. Here’s one that seems to be on fire lately: Out of the Shadows 11, featuring a bizarre zombie cover. This looks like it should easily fall in the Fine range, with a bit of stress or scuffing near the top right of the spine and some bends on the back cover that look improvable. Am I asking too much? Maybe...but I was starting to work on the run, so grab it before it ends up back in my pc! Out of the Shadows 11 $1,050
  13. Here are two great copies of Spellbound, with the star of the show being #3 with an awesome cover by Russ Heath. Spellbound 3 has the eye-appeal and colors of a comic in the Fine range, but I’m calling it a VG due to an unfortunate spine split from the top corner down to the top staple and some damage to the bottom left corner. It nevertheless looks awesome in a Mylite, and looks far nicer than most examples of this book. Spellbound 29 is VG/F in its own right. A solid copy. Not sure how to price these two... $700 for the pair.
  14. Well, that's going to be it for now. If these find new homes, I will post a bunch more. In the meantime, feel free to make an offer, especially if you're interested in multiple lots. Anyone who purchases multiple items will get first crack at some other nice pre-code comics...
