I'll start off with this great book. There seems to be more stuff in here about John Broome than in any other source I've found so far. It is an in-depth look at all things Flash and how the character was created and those that created him from 1940 to 2008. A must have for any Flash collector IMHO.

My pretend grades are in! (In my pretend contest)

Speaking of bound volumes...Maybe its about time for us Flash fans to put together a bibliography of Flash related reading material. We've been mentioning it here and there recently. And since my collection is essentially complete I am finding my self more and more turning to books about the creators of my favorite character and related material. I am putting together a library of sorts. We should compare reading lists.

I wonder if the DC archives still has those "bound volumes" of the Flash? Can you imagine how much those would go for if they ever went up for auction!?

I always thought if you entered you had to put up a prize. I had fun picking out those prize packages for you guys. Made some great connections with you all through the prizes. Made some good friends! One year I put together 2 or 3 to choose from. So if you made it to the bottom of the list (which was where my prizes were ) At least you had a choice. I always included a gift card.

I will also have to get Julie's book for my Flash library. Did Carmine ever write a book?

I thought we would see the grades tonight, I think its Friday though?? (Just a fan playing the home version, missed the cattle call - tried to sign up on the last day but the contest was full)

I love 174 for its style and of course the Rouges! Iconic, and powerful, unique for its time. I would normally have it in my top 5. I choose 155 in its place this time as my favorite Rouges cover as it is such a great example of Carmine's action and fluidity, motion on display. Why couldn't I have 2 Rouges covers in my top five? Good question! Like I said my top five change from year to year.

I need one of these!!! I will have to start looking for one. Are they hard to find? Expensive?

123 was Tied with174 in five of our lists! 139 and 155 also tied in 4 of our top 5 lists! 125, 175 and 172 tied made into 3 of our lists! 133, 135 and 140 made it into 2 of our top 5 lists. 131, 153, 126, 132, 137, 130, 136, 114, 156, 145, 127, 166, 168, 170, 170 made honorable mentions!

Any Flash fans in the grading contest? I found the sign up on the last day, but sadly it was closed out. 350 was the limit and they already had hit that at some point prior to the last day of sign ups. So I am out but playing along anyway. Frustrating because about 100 of those that signed up never put in their grades for the first round and are out.

What do you say Flash fans? Should we tally up the top 5 covers and see which one got the most votes? I'll give it just one more day for any last minute top 5's.

I would have done poorly on that round---would have scored a 12. but who cares I'm not even in this fight Still having fun though!

Interesting stories on the inside of #65 but you have to pick up #66 to learn the the endings to all the stories. So it looks like I will be looking for that one next!

Any chance if you get a bunch that miss the deadline and drop out of the contest, you may consider opening it up to some late comers??? My grades are ready to go! They may not be very good, but they are ready
