  1. I submitted my grades to my self as I am out of the contest But clearly in the lead.
  2. Awesome group shot there!!! I would just about kill for that 175 at an 8.5??!! My copy has about 15 little tiny staples holding the front cover to the book. I guess if not for the staples I'd have a coverless book I gotta be grateful with what I got. ---So what are your top 5 favorite Flash covers??
  3. Exactly! They have no idea! At least with some sort of deal with MCS or whoever , our families will get decent money--but maybe just as importantly it will be sold to someone who loves the stuff as much as we do.
  4. It was a great system! I even got a prize, once or twice Gave away/donated many prizes, always had fun and learned a bunch along the way. I absolutely loved the grading contests!!!
  5. So glad you're feeling better Terry! It's tough to think about but I always do think about who I would leave this stuff to. Now if I had a Spider-Man collection I know my youngest son would appreciate that. But I don't have a Spider-Man collection do I? No one in my family would really enjoy it so what do I do with it?? I guess I will have to set something up with My Comic Shop and leave instructions, that's a really good idea. You would hope someone you know would really appreciate it and enjoy it after you're gone but the truth is they really wouldn't and it will be a lot for them to go through.
  6. Any more top 5 SA Flash covers out there? Ya know you need not have to own them to cast a vote. Just tell us what your favorite covers are.
  7. I agree with a 9.0. Tiny color rub on the back cover near the bottom staple. Ever-so-slightly blunted corners and the tiniest little beginning of a staple tear on the bottom staple on the front? Nice looking copy.
  8. In the end though of course you all know the story has a happy ending. As even after all that I was eventually able to not only rebuild and replace all that I had to sell but was actually able to complete it! The dream of a life time of collecting! When the chips were down though and times were very desperate The Flash came to my rescue when I really needed a hero, he was there.
  9. Yes that and having a financial imperative that forces you to sell your collection at 1/3 to 1/2 its retail value!!! That's a kick to the nether regions you never fully recover from.
  10. Absolutely! Sellers remorse is worse! Good point!
  11. Kav, I guess you and me will both have to sit this one out. A day late and a comic short.
  12. Impressive! I love it, thanks for sharing!
  13. Wow! And with a repo cover? So that begs the argument can it be a 7.0 if its incomplete? Shouldn't it be considered coverless? What am I missing here?
  14. Awesome! Love that shelf...it's giving me ideas for a future comic book room!
  15. Looks like I missed out! 350 participants already?? Wow this one will be wild!
  16. I'm at that point in my Vampi collection where I really need to have a list to refer to when I go shopping. There were several there where I was not sure if I already had some of the ones I was looking at. Time to take stock. I bet I have 30 or 40 now, out of 112 is it?
  17. Just discovered a new stash of Vampi's at my LCS. Brought this one home
  18. Sad day for Flashlites yesterday...I went to my local comic shop and found out the Showcase #8 with water damage that I've been dreaming about for a year and a half was finally sold. It was almost in reach but alas it really was just a little too much for this Flash fan. Collecting on the small budget I have really has it's ups and downs. It's great when you come across something at that rare moment when you have the ability to purchase it! Like the signed copy of 107 I got this summer! That was amazing! But its painful when something like this slips away.
