  1. Nice looking copy! I'm Jealous! Mine has 14 tiny staples holding the cover on from some kid back in the 60's .... (Its Jay Leno as Superman!)
  2. Just an incredible book! The first Kubert Flash cover I believe?
  3. Hey! What's Spidey doing in my Flash comic?! Lovie it Terry! and you're right that paper quality is amazing!
  4. I love this copy!!! I need one!!! Did not even know it existed! Thanks Terry as always, you are truly the master of all things Flash, always willing to share your vast knowledge and experience. I really need to look into some of these international editions and start going after them.
  5. We've been over this before but Grodd should have been on the cover of 107. I can't believe it took 20 more issues for him to make a cover appearance??!!
  6. Not much going on here lately Flash Fans. We will have to think of something to reenergize this thread. Any Ideas? A favorite cover contest maybe? Battle of the Rogues? Lets figure something out
  7. I was born right smack in the middle of the Silver Age. I did not start buying comics until 1972 or so.
  8. Thank you so much I will have to pass on the offer.
  9. I love it! Of course! But hey its back to school month and that means all my comic book funds are going to kids clothes. It seems when you sign up to be a parent you are also required to put clothes on their backs? Who knew? Jeeze! How many more of these am I going to have to pass on??!! You're killin' me Smalls!
  10. I need to get one! I've been borrowing my friends for too long...lol! What is the latest edition?
  11. 950 lets think about that # for a minute. It is one of the most intriguing things about collecting Undergrounds for me. Many of the early publications had runs of 5000 or less. Just a much smaller number than the mainstream. And we are left to wonder how many copies were trashed as defective before they even got to the stores and then how many survive today out of that small number. It just points out how rare and special some of theses books are!
  12. Nice solid copies of both!!! And 2 great keys, congratulations!!!
  13. I did not know it was signed when I bought it. I was floored, as I have see his autograph on several items and recognized it right away. It must have been signed in the 70's or early 80's (My best guess anyway) as there was a big stigma back in those days about signatures on covers of comics. We used to grade down for it. I am kinda thinking about getting it authenticated but I don't know. Just very happy to finally have a 107 with a cover on it. This was just an amazing bonus! I wish I could have met Mr. Infantino and of course Mr. Broome. This will have to do as sadly, they have both passed on now.
  14. Some of you may recognize that scratchy autograph?
  15. Hey there Flash Fans! For all of you that followed along with me as I completed my Silver Age run last year here's an update: Although my run was technically complete my copy of 107 was a coverless copy. I am happy to announce I now have one with a cover! Not only that take a peak inside and look what I found!
  16. Only 26 of these listed in the census. The pride of my Flash collection!
  17. I will bring out Granddaddy Flash for a new photo shoot next week guys. Only 26 listed in the census last I checked.
  18. I love Silver Age DC! Obviously! I am soooooo glad there are fewer collectors and especially glad the prices are relatively low! On my small budget I was able to complete my run, a dream of a life time. I also collect or used to collect some Marvel. ( Some of my best friends are Marvel collectors) I love Thor and at one point in the 1990's I nearly had a complete set of Journey into Mystery. I was only short the #83. So I guess I'm not sure what you are getting at here? If you love a character you love that character. If you fell in love with only Marvel, good for you, at least you fell in love with something. Marvel comics are great. But there are some great DC books too. Average raw Silver Journey into Mystery say 3.0 or under...about 60-80 bucks last I checked. Average raw Silver Flash say 3.0 or under .... about 30 bucks. If you are collecting for investment or chasing Fads and Keys, I really don't know what that's like, so I'll only say this: have fun with it but try and look a little deeper into the hobby once in a while. There's a lot of fun in between the covers...! But you'll have to buy a reader copy to find out.
  19. And this little rarity all the way from south of the border, probably my favorite of the 3, from 1979..... Aventuras De La Vida Real Extraterresrtres!
  20. Yep, its a manufacturing defect, one I'm sure the CGC has notes about in their secret files. I bet it would affect the grade like a miss-cut, probably never make it into the 8 or 9 categories. But in this condition I wouldn't tend grade down for it. Put it in the PGM and lets see what they say and let us know so we can follow along maybe learn a thing or two along the way
