  1. Also don't forget the contest is about to begin!!! What will be the final issue for flashlites to get to complete the run 105-350!!?? There are 14 issues left for me to complete the run. If you can guess which one it will be there is a prize. Rules and details coming soon! Stay tuned Flash Fans!!! See page 162. The Flash 123 and Flash 1 from the 80's are reproductions, but how about that B&B Flash/Doom Patrol that's pure Silver Age Sweetness! I will add more to the pile, I just have to dig through a few boxes. And I'm throwing in a 25$ gift card!
  2. Geeze guys! We are already on 164!!! Time to get my trusty 164 out of the old Flash Vault (AKA long box) and scan it in! Just 10 more pages to go Terry! And I have finally caught up with current Flash reading 757 today! Quite the Rouges story for you Rouges fans out there! I highly recommend it!
  3. It's all true! I have a Stan interview with him describing that very golf encounter with I believe Goodman from Atlas/Marvel and Schwartz DC. They were happy doing romance, westerns and monsters until the Flash, Green Lantern and the Justice League took off. It's high time Marvel fans admit the truth without the Flash reinvention, comics as we know it would have died out and Stan would have moved on--remember he always said he was ready to quit at that point (1960-61ish).
  4. Hey, you have one! That's all that matters.
  5. Just 5 more posts for 163 Flash Fans! If you've got a Flash 163 now's you chance to get it immortalized forever on page 163 of The Flash Collectors Thread!
  6. Windfall for Flashlites today!!! Here are the first 6 of 11 total issues expected. More to come soon!
  7. I love 153 too! Its in my top 5 of all time favorite Flash covers. I let them all rotate into the #1 position and spend time as the most favorite. Love that 123 and 147 too! Thanks for sharing!! ( for extra credit read page 153 of this thread )
  8. My golden age collection takes priority, sending those in one by one first. It will be a while before I start sending in the Silver age stuff.
  9. Books in this grade range are so hard to grade. Thank you all for your input! I graded it at a 6.5 but we all need a gut check especially when its one of our own books! Hard to be impartial. Does anyone know if there will be another grading contest? I loved those things!
  10. Why thank you for asking! They are a lovely light cream to off white. Let me get you a photo one sec...
  11. It's been kinda quiet lately on this thread. I thought I'd share this nice Flashy surprise in the back of WW #23, just picked up today. Also in this issue, John Broome writing as John Osgood. Some of his earlier work as he was getting started with DC. (soon to get a crack at writing the Flash!)
  12. I got my 140 out of lay-a-way today Flash Fans!!!
  13. We are moving on to #163 Flash Fans! The black cover shows every flaw...arrrgh! I know some of you will have a stunning copies of this issue to show off. I can't wait to see them!
  14. The Speed Force is strong with this one!
  15. Nice trip! Its so important to support your local stores! We have about 6 or 8 i'd say here in San Antonio. I make my rounds throughout the year. Sometimes I hit 2-3 in a weekend. I've been known to hit the road up to Austin there's a shop up there I like to go to. But I love finding new stores when i'm on the road. A couple of years ago I found a gem up in Tyler Texas. And of course we have Bedrock City Comics in Houston, I think Rich is up to 3 or 4 locations now in the Houston area maybe 5!? My hometown store in Albuquerque, The Comic Book Warehouse, I always set aside a shopping day when I go home to visit. I was really worried about the newest store here in town though! Its been touch and go and came close to throwing in the towel, due to the pandemic. They are only 2 years old and the closest store to me, so for the last 2 months I've been spending my money there. It hasn't been easy for these shops. If you can buy local do it, instead of ordering from the mega online guys.
  16. I'm on 753 of the current run so I have so reading to do to get caught up but i'm actually liking the story line! I loved the montage in 750! A story for each decade of the Flash! They must have had so much fun writing each era and they captured the story styles pretty well from decade to decade I thought!
  17. Here's what's left Flash Fans (besides the showcase issues): 106, 110,111, 112, 117, 135, 174, 267, 275, 276, 277, 278, 279, 280, 281, 282, 341, 342, 343, 344. There are others missing at the moment but I am in the process of buying them : 140 is on lay-a-way and 314, 315, 316, 317, 323, 324, 345, 346, 348 I have promised to buy, so you can count them out. With these purchases in process I will not be hunting for any new comics for another month or two maybe more. Realistically I would think completing the run will likely take me into next year, but you never know. The fever is upon me and the finish line is in sight. Here's what I have for so far for the prizes if you can guess what will be the last Flash issue for me to complete the run 105-350 (and yes Terry, I looked into it international shipping would be about $26, I will ship it to you if you can guess correctly, I know you want that Hershey bar) The Flash 123 and Flash 1 from the 80's are reproductions, but how about that B&B Flash/Doom Patrol that's pure Silver Age Sweetness! I will add more to the pile, I just have to dig through a few boxes. And I'm throwing in a 25$ gift card! Do I have any volunteers to handle the guessing away from my eyes for the next several months? PM me and lets set it up! This should be kinda fun for us! Just 20 issues to go, maybe you could pick 5 each? We can think of something to make it interesting.
  18. Yes you would have to count those as separate stories.
  19. Besides the showcase issues That will be its own quest!
  20. Still thinking about running a contest for the one who guesses what my last issue will be to complete the run. I'm putting together a prize package of Flashy goodness as we speak for the winner. I will post an updated list of the remaining issues soon...getting very close Flash Fans!
  21. I know most of you are kinda counting down to 174, which is the only issue in the next 100 or so that I still don't have. Maybe I'll get one by then?
