  1. I think I m at a 4 with 3 bullseyes? Not too bad and just good enough to have a chance as long as I get better and not worse as this thing goes on
  2. Such a great story! Thanks for sharing those panels-I didn't have to go digging through my box even though I love doing that, it's part of the fun of the hobby, am I right? Everything is in order for my Flash collection but its even more fun if I'm looking for something else
  3. Well if you are ever disappointed enough to sell that Flash 81 you know who to call. I'd take that book in almost any grade! Whats with the low grades? And then we we get into the grading contest they are all way over graded and they all seem 1 and 1 1/2 points too high!!?? and @MultiSig Mike with his: Flash #162 - 8.0 but comes back a 7.0 after c&p. Flash #164 - 8.5 but comes back a 6.5 after c&p.??? What gives Flash fans?? Did all the tough graders come out of retirement or what?
  4. I will have to post a group shot, maybe this weekend?
  5. I was just talking to a buddy of mine who is in the same boat looking for Daredevil back issues. You cant find them at the shops because they wont buy them when they come in. So collectors have to go looking for them elsewhere. Places like this are where you have the best chance of picking them up. Here and at conventions and the big online shops are the only places where you can find them. The local shops just aren't interested.
  6. A few years ago I was desperately looking for the last 50 issues of the Flash run. Here on the boards is where I found them. A sales thread here might be the best place to sell them. Also I'd be willing to bet there would be a few dealers at your favorite con that would snatch them up at the right price.
  7. Nice little bunch there! Congratulations!!! Your collection must be nearly complete now? What else ae you looking for?
  8. What an amazing item!!! Tells any details you might have about this. I knew Superman had a watch back then but I never dreamed Flash appeared on these kinds of items!
  9. My favorite GA Flash cover! A grail book to me. Maybe one day ..... Thanks for sharing!
  10. Awesome mini run there!!! Thanks for sharing!
  11. I thought this was interesting! Lots of Golden Age Flash Comics in the footage. They were just hanging out in a Canadian comic shop in 1970, no bags and boards as those had not been invented yet. Ahhhh, to go back in time....
  12. ---Wow so you are saying 2 weeks for fast track? That's awesome! How much extra is it for fast track? I have not checked in a long time. I love that 108! One of my favorite early Flash covers! Is it because of the purple? In the 1970's it was the lowest # I could find and afford in my little corner of Southwest America. So I would gaze at it lovingly for many hours and dream and think...there are only 3 other Flash issues before this one. I was about 12 years old at the time. I had seen a 107 so I knew what that one looked like, but alas I could not afford to get it from the paperback book exchange (believe it was about 18-20$ for a 107 back in those days?) But I had not even seen a 106 or a 105 at that point. I remember kind of daydreaming and trying to imagine what was in those other issues, who made the cover and so on. Very fond memories.
  13. Love those 80pg giants! Before the intranet and omnibus' this was the only way you could read a GA story. Loved every one of them! Classic!
  14. I considered a 5.5 for Batman but sadly went with a 6.0, I never considered anything higher than 2.0 for Startling. I also considered a 7.5 for the FF comic but fortuitously went with 7.0 (decent looking book), I too went with 6.0 on the Strange Confessions book. Captain Marvel I actually considered at 9.6 but went with 9.4 in the end.
  15. Mike, thank you so much for another great contest! I really enjoyed this one!
  16. I graded them like this: Startling Comics #40 - 2.0 Strange Confessions #1 - 6.0 Fantastic Four #50 - 7.0 Batman #210 - 6.0 Captain Marvel #31 - 9.4 If I'd know Strange confessions had that top staple popped I may have gotten another bullseye....It looked like may have been popped but alas that is our challenge not having the book in hand...
