You are lucky, I am not doing PINK..;)

Thank you all for the help...here is a picture before I forget...for the thread...the Atlas is the only one in decent shape (well nice for MY collection)...but they are fun...and thanks again you are so nice :acclaim:!

  2. What a smart idea, thanks for the suggestion:) I really wasn't going to list these...they have been sitting behind me...but I should before I forget all the useful hints:)

Also, I hope to be buying some more GA books soon, so the money will help, lol

What happened to the wedding?! :baiting:

At any rate, if you have double cover ASMs, I (probably Terry too) would appreciate getting a first crack at them. Maybe we could even trade for some GA books.

Well, I just called her, lol..and asked if they were any closer to a date...and the answer was.."chill Mom...not yet"..

So...I can buy some GA books instead, lol...I'll be VERY chilled...;)

and I guess I'm not really all that worried, lol...it will work out, I'm making excuses to buy more books ever do that... :baiting:

  3. I just had this conversation with another member about values for multiple covers. To be honest, you can expect an extremely wide standard deviation for the prices of multiple covers. The issue is that there are basically two or three bidders on eBay that are throwing the numbers out of whack. So it comes down to whether or not those individuals want that particular issue. If gijoed and comicwars already have a certain book with 2+ covers, they may not bid at all.

He asked me what a certain bronze age issue of FF is worth with a double cover. My answer was basically, if Joe and Tina already have it, then as low as $25. If not, then probably over $100. Percentagewise, we're talking about huge swings in value.

For your triple cover I can't see it here from work because they filter out photobucket images, but I'd say that it would go for way over $100 just by virtue of it having 3 covers and my understanding of what the market is for these types of books. I would not be surprised if it goes for over $200 or $300, even without looking at the images.

DoublaCovaBrotha is right. There are a couple of other double cover collectors out there. EmptyGrave comes to mind. Here's a silly hint if you are going to list it on eBay: Include the words "double cover" in your auction listing. Something like, "Not a double cover, but a triple cover", just so it comes up in more search results.

  4. Well, that sounds better than $1.50...and since I don't really collect them, I supose I'll do a group one of these days...I must have 5 or 6 double covers as well...I just kept them because I thought they were cool...

Thanks:) and I know, no one can predict:) I just wanted a clue:)

  5. I haven't a clue what these things go for...is it related to the grade on the top cover? Does it go according to Overstreet in some way?

If the book is going to go for $1.50, lol..I'll just keep it..Walt Disney's are not that hot on Ebay...

I have no idea what that blank spot means, either...if that is good, or bad...(where the label would have been.

  6. and what's really cute is it smells of fabric softener
    :signfunny:

She stored them in a sealed box with Fabric Softener sheets...;)

Sorry about the Mets...*sigh* I figured you'd be in mourning, my husband said it was his fault, cause he forgot and scheduled appointments with clients Wednesday night...so you can blame him..

  7. I think maybe it's a fine...no more...it was read...and what's really cute is it smells of fabric softener, I bought it from this nice lady in the Midwest who thought the comics smelled...the book I bought the lot for, was missing pages ..but this one was there, as a surprise, I never saw a triple cover...

What I was curous about is...are they really rare? (3 covers?) and...does that white spot make any kind of difference?

  8. I know this one is not terribly high grade, but I was always curious about it, and then I saw this thread...it has 3 covers...

A friend told me years ago, he thought there was something special about it, because the blank spot for the Subscriptions was on each of the three pages...

any thoughts? I almost put it on Ebay about 4 years ago, but never had a clue...and I thought it was different, so I just kept it...triple3.jpg

    Sharon

  11. Ask Sharon whether she has another one in her prenuptial clearance sale.

    Jack

Thanks, Jack. That "Ghost" issue has a great cover. Have to pick up one of those.

    Angelo

    waubatch.jpgGlad you liked them, Jack:)

I actually have a full run of the books all except the Teen and Spies books...I kept one of each of the best ones I found at the warehouse...and he's right, about the sale, lol..but my daughter hasn't picked a date yet, so I'm not frantic yet...;)

When I was at the warehouse...I did rescue a number of these packages intact..I thought they were more interesting than the books, I picked the ones with the least ink, but there is still ink on the sides...there is one with at least one Ghosts book if anyone is really interested, I guess I would put them in the market place, or the VCC.

  12. A battle for control of the Superman franchise pits Time Warner against the original Lois Lane.

It's so sad the way corporations cheat the creators and in this case, their families. Did I read it correctly? Does Seigal's widow recieves a pension of only 135,000 dollars a year, if so, that's chump change, especially for the lady Lois Lane was modelled after.

It's no where near enough, but I had no idea that they had been living in poverty prior to that, how sad...I hope they win their suit...

That Kitty is just too cute, lol

  13. Kudos to jkcona for some Submariners and these absolutely WONDERFUL extras, that was so sweet of you, Jim...many thanks! :cloud9:

Kudos to Apotheosis for a lovely CGC Thrilling starring Princess Pantha :cloud9:...I'm looking for sticky stuff or something, to put this on my wall...I absolutely love it! Thank you so much and I hope the job situation works out to be better than expected and resolved quickly! (worship)
