  1. I vote for Jessica Alba...anyone second?

So you want the woman who was a terrible Sue Storm, to be a terrible Wonder Woman?

She's maybe 5'6" to 5'7" with a slight build. I can't believe that she could be a serious contender, not even considering acting talent.

Wonder Woman needs a Lucy Lawless type, at least 5'10" and muscular. (LL's probably a bit too old at this point, but I just noticed while looking up her age that she's doing WW's voice in an animated Justice League New Frontier in production. I didn't know that!)

I'd rather have Hugh Jackman play Wonder Woman, lol...

    He's too short too.

Sorry, she is gorgeous, but...she is no Wonder Woman...;)

Certainly pretty, but gorgeous is stretching it.

    Jack

Sorry, Jack...I should have said HE is gorgeous...;) I was trying to be kind, she's not my type...

and he is DEFINITELY tall enough, lol...he's about 6'3" Lucy Lawless would be good if she were a little younger and could act...but there are plenty of great, tall actresses out there.

    Sharon

Well then, Jackman's not my type!

Jackman is 6'3" (a fine, noble and most desirable height)? They chose a 6'3" guy to play Wolverine? He's supposed to be short, right? WTF?

In that case, bring on Jessica as Wonder Shrimp!

    Jack

Height is not important. This is HOLLYWOOD!!! Alan Ladd played tall and he was a shrimp. Sly Stallone is like 5'5" and he played the heavyweight champ of the world.

Ummm..OK, I don't care if she is 4'11, she's attractive, sexy, maybe the nicest person in the world...

But guys, take away the face and the body and she CAN'T ACT!! lol...

Hugh Jackman can act AND sing:)

I like this dumb debate a LOT better than the other dreadful one, lol

  3. Man, where did everyone go? I always could clear a room...

anyway, let's see if there are any fans with a pulse: Did anyone hear the news that Katie Holmes is being approached for Wonder Woman Role?

What happened to those gorgeous Bolly-wood beauties that we were being teased with?

How do you feel about this?

Unless they can somehow figure out how to get Hugh Jackman to play Steve Trevor, I think I'd skip the movie if Katie plays her...

  4. They're both very nice! :applause:

    hey fuel

as I just told sharon, "any" AS 8 is nice...it is just a great book to have!

    gator

I'm in complete agreement with you on that! You get your usual great JSA story, a classic cover and the first appearance of the most important GA female hero.... :luhv:

You know, there was a thread a few months back, I think it was "name the 5 most recognizable superheroes".....easy enough for the first 4: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Spider-man.........number 5 had multiple answers, but not the first 4.

My copy isn't at home, or I'd scan it, but it's about Good-, lol..so, I've been having moments of unbridled lust over Rick's VG...;) however, I woke up this morning, and realized he is right...ANY copy is nice to have...these are just such cool old books:)

I read an article recently about the FIRST female super heroes, I need to find that article it would make another great thread, I was much surprised to find out there were several before her, I thought she was 2nd or 3rd, but I think there were a few more, I don't remember right now. Hawkgirl and Miss Fury come to mind, but the other names were not long running.

  5. but I don't see how all the blame can fall on me.

I don't think "blame" is the proper word here...I would say that both of you were equally at "fault" here but it's not to a world ending degree...chalk it up to a learning experiance... (thumbs u

    I can live with that.

Paypal has an easy way to sort, payments received. Sometimes, checks clear later and the payment doesn't show on the first page, if you run 30 auction payments, you might have missed the payment on the first page. If you do a sort of past payments, then payments received, you will see a shipping button for every transaction that you have not printed postage. It's a great way to keep track, but you have to do this several times a week. Lots of times, spam filters keep the emails at bay...I don't email people when I pay them, I figure the Paypay notice is enough, and I thank them in a note on the notice, however, I DO email people when I receive payments, just so THEY know, it got here, so I check all the time. It's just a few extra steps, and I think it might make the 30 auctions, easier to handle, good luck...

Hope this helps, I don't see anything, although there are names on the other stories, not this one...

I don't view the "upset world of men" any differently than the "upset world of women" lol...everyone is a person to me...

sorry I crunched the slap and am using it for coasters now...very nice quality plastic:)

  7. So here's a "Wonder Woman" neophyte question out of left field: there appears to be a shift in style where the "big eyelashes" Wonder Woman is replaced by a more modern image. Is this a shift in cover artists? Did the same artist do the covers for earlier Sensation Comics and Wonder Woman?

    Dennis

Harry G Peters did the VERY early Sensations and the Wonder Womans...and Wonder Woman was reinvented several times...I think the biggest change was the no costume segment, but that was much later on...

  8. Joker-Fish looks to be on vacation (he hasn't posted in a while and hasn't responded to PM's). I have a $120 deal he hasn't paid for yet but my guess is he probably will eventually.

    Ed

I had problems with joker-fish in the past. Don't hold your breath.

Well, in that case...I might as well add another to joker-fish's list, he said he wanted a Batman book from me, since June 5th, and I kept getting excuses, seems like a nice man, and I really hate tattling stuff...I just figure in my case, I'm going to sell the book and not hold it any longer, but I suppose, someone else needs to know that they shouldn't make immediate plans for money when dealing with him. I think being patient for 2 months is enough...he should just tell me he changed his mind...but that has not happened.

  9. Some Kudos going out to

    FT88 for some fantastic Charltons.

Comicdey for a great TEC I needed for my collection

SkyPinkBlu for quick payment on Captain America 48 (which paid for the TEC)

    :banana::headbang::banana:

Got to check my PMs there might be someone I am missing.

You know, this has really been Fun, Brian:) I think in essence, I traded my Batman 20 for the Captain America, since you bought that one from me before, I paid you for the Captain, after you sold...

Ummm...never mind the chain of evidence, but it was FUN, thanks! and a great way for me to "trade" a double for a book I love:)
