Thanks for helping JimJum, Alex. This will look good next to your Marvel version. I’ll pay Jim’s PayPal and provide proof of payment to Alex and @DavidTheDavid

Just please don't post comics from a competing company...we can probably rationalize anything else worth rationalizing. I know we have had Legos in these threads, toys and there is NO problem with other aged comics.
I put it here because the traffic is best here.CGC had been very very forgiving with "helping" threads and Kudos to them for allowing them.

Since I was a volunteer mod for about 10 years, I think I can safely say that the rules are much looser when it's a helping thread.

It wasn't much, but it was literally all the spare cash I had/have on me. I myself stocked up for the next week with my medicines so I can safely weather the public holidays and the crowds they bring after. Had I known I would have not bought my meds and donated more, but alas, that's not how things worked out.
So I'm sorry Jim, for the pitiful amount I sent you, but know that it was all I have, sent without hesitation. Hopefully that makes up for the amount.... somewhat?
Don't be sorry...what you did was more than generous...and please, no one who is in financial need should feel they need to do anything other than send best wishes. Jim understands that and so do the rest of us. I doubt there are very many people here who don't understand that money is sometimes tight.
So thank you for being so selfless and Merry Christmas...so glad you bought your medicine! Feel better soon!

Good morning everyone! Great donations, thank you.
I know at the start of this I asked buyers to send invoices and then when David offered to help I changed it, so there might have been some confusion. At first I was getting notes from 2 people, so I thought we'd start sending them out. However, there was at least one who was missed from the beginning group.
So...if you have not gotten an invoice, or you did one together and didn't copy me, so I know when the item is paid for...please let me know. If you already have an invoice going, just add me to the pm. If you need me to send one, just send a note and I'll add the buyer or the donor to the pm.
Hope this makes some sense.

I'm caught up on PMs and David kindly offered to do clean up in the morning, so I know the spreadsheet will be up to date. I won't be around for the late morning and early afternoon, I have a prior commitment.
I like to do the updates about how much money has been raised to the penny, but I'm having a little trouble because only Jim can see the cash donations and he's been typing numbers to me, but it's hard for him, so I think we are going to estimate a little until he's a little better...which I hope will be soon.
So this number does not include some of today's cash donations, nor any books that were purchased on his thread since we all started this "Helping" thread.
I know that $4938.00 has been reported as paid for books donated. The cash amount donated as a straight cash donation I have on record (and it's more than this amount) is $3520.00.
Jim and I agreed that the total is at least $9,000.00 so far
Which is pretty amazing when you think about it. We have a ways to go...because a good friend who is a lot better with numbers than I am, said that $20,000 was too low a goal for Jim's expenses for 7 months...and I know my friend is correct. I hope to keep this going until he has a little bit of a cushion in addition the exact $$$ needed to survive until SSI kicks in.
So great job everyone! Huge thanks to all of you and have a great night!

@DavidTheDavid I'm up to this post and I updated the sheet for any PM I was listed on.

"nauseating, but slow steady gains, they're pros. i can almost stand again by myself ... so far no "fall down, go boom." they feed us like royalty. god bless ...."

I need to run out till after lunch, but I spoke with Jim by PM just now. @Readcomix I have his address...Checks are fine.
Jim is getting some payments that appear to be sales transactions for the donated books. If you remember, please mark them as personal. You should not have any fees unless perhaps you are using a credit card to pay? Paypal assured me that they do not charge fees for these kinds of transactions, I called them and spoke to two people.
If anyone is getting charged fees when marking something personal (it's perfectly legit here!) please pm me...and I'll call them again.
Have a wonderful Morning and thanks everyone.
I will be checking my phone, but hate phone typing, I make too many errors and I type pretty fast on a keyboard, very very slowly on a phone;)

switching gears a bit:
Sgt. Fury #13, CGC 4.5 off-white. Sha @skypinkblujust sold one in this thread for $225. Take this one for $200 shipped.
I will take it, I'm going to ask @BlackOut21 if he will allow you to mail him that one, and I'll keep mine...I'll pay you for the book either way, but it would save a shipping transaction.

I see that David is updating the spreadsheet, so THANK YOU! I'm going to bed in a minute I need to drive my husband to the eye dr tomorrow AM. I will check on my phone and be online in the afternoon...but meanwhile, great job everyone.
I only have the cash donations from earlier tonight because I think Jim went to sleep earlier, I'll have more info tomorrow on those. But this is what I do have so far.
$1840 has been paid so far for books and $1830 has been paid in cash donations (probably a little more there) for a grand total so far of $3670.00, a great job everyone! and have a wonderful night. I'm certain Jim is happy with the help so far.
OK, so two more payments came in before I signed off, so I updated the totals! even BETTER Job!
