Lol- you are good at finding deals... where are the Mcfarlane deals???
Wolverine unleased looks like it’s going to go to on the cheap side. Better pull the trigger. It’s right up your alley.

Let’s pass around a hat and get the McFarlane Hulk cover.

It sounds like you got it cheap, and it's not something you collect so you want to sell and buy something that fits your collection alley.
Why don't you just consign it to comiclink and let it ride?
At the end of the day, if you promote it and it's on clink, what it sells for is pretty much market value. If you make money, great. If you lose money. I suspect it won't be a lot, and if this is not something you collect, you might as well divert that cash into something else that you like.

Good advice. Thanks.

Looks a bit messy in terms of various components in need of separate framed displays. No idea what the market is for Ernie's work but I'd say $500 tops.
So is that $500.02?
Tops I heard so far is $2,000. No known heroes probably knocks it down but it is unique and detailed. Nice Bronze Age comic might help. Who knows? Just trying to figure out a decent price to move it for a trade.
Is it still considered a DPS if it’s all done on one 11x17 but displayed in the publication as a DPS? -
Full disclosure. I purchased this piece this past week as unidentified art from the seller. I knew it had to be something special so I purchased it. After I purchased it I sought help from the CGC boards and was able to identify this gem. This is extremely unique in it's process and detail. Value on the page is between $1,500 - $2,000. The reason I am wanting to part with it so soon is that I collect mostly known characters and I am looking to parlay this into a more desired page for myself. I am not greedy and I realize how fortunate I am for stumbling upon this item. That being said I am looking for a page trade valued at $600-$800 featuring the below characters or a purchase amount of $700 plus $15 shipping. Details on the page below. PM if there is interest or want to chat more.
Characters interested in:
Wolverine, Hulk, Punisher, Cyclops, Batman, Venom....and the like.
The page.
There are four pieces to this art. All are loose. The transparency is original pencil or marker/pen and signed by Ernie Colon. The art is also duplicated so we also have here what looks to be a transparency of the original art on transparent media, and the blue page is plastic/overlay with original white out and other color used as an effect. It measures aprox 11x15 but is featured as a DPS in the publication.

Sorry to start a self indulgent thread btw.

I have no clue what it is? Any ideas? Seller had it in a collection of unidentified art.
What I know.
Artsist: Ernie Colon
Maybe from John Carter?
There are 3 parts or pieces. The transparency mounted to the white backing is original pencil or marker/pen. The art is also duplicated so we also have here what looks to be a transparency of the original art on transparent media, and the blue page is plastic/overlay with original white out and other color used as an effect. Any thoughts on what this is?

Sketch cover artists can be found on most of these sites. You can start by scrolling through the 2020 and 2019 Sketch Cover Mega Threads in this forum and see who and what you like. Many of the artists can be contacted directly via Facebook or IG. The Signature threat also has various Sketch Ops in progress every so often. Facebook has MANY sites including Sketch Cover Fanatics, Comic Book Sketch Covers, CGC Comics Fans and Sketch Prices boards.... you just have to start browsing. Be careful though....it is a deep rabbit hole once you start.
Thanks. I already reached out to our friendly neighborhood FAKadar who I have long been admiring in these forums. I have collected some of the comic "legends" on sketch covers and to tell you the truth they are just kind of...blah, no personality. I really like the high quality wow factor ones seen all over this site but should I be watching out for anything? I've seen some photo realistic ones that seem impossible go for pretty cheap...are the artist really that good or is there a process they use to achieve the look?

Been collecting original published comic art and looking to add sketch covers to my collection. Outside of published DC/Marvel...etc artist, who should I be looking into? Who specializes in this category of art?

There are some good deals to be had there for sure. Just wanted to get a pulse on who has been joining the weekly auctions. I spent a good chunk of change the first couple months he was doing it but decided to shut it down

Once I decided to make the switch to OA I stopped collecting comics. I do buy Omnibus collections to read. I love that that option is available, such a great way to read a run or complete story line.
