  1. Looking at that cover, another word leaps to mind, it rhymes with raboy though.... Snowman? No, that doesn't rhyme. JPS
  2. WOW! I love that "Is that an Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator or are you just glad to see me?" cover on #2! Here's what a real MAN's copies of #2 and #4 look like. Jack
  3. Flotsam and jetsam won here and there. Sellers' scans. Many of you recognize the BLUE background. Black Cat in horror book mode. Classic cover! A surprise win, graded FN- by a trusted seller. Jack
  4. have you tried scoffing and sneering at the same time? One's facial muscles tend to go into spasm.... Rumor has it that if you scoff, sneer and fart at the same time, it's fatal. Jack
  5. I hope you cover your mouth Jack sounds contagious
  6. Is this Billy Parker, who sneers at DC sidekicks, pets and covers featuring animated snowmen, showing off a character whose extended family includes Bulletgirl, Bulletboy and Bulletdog? Jack
  7. I don't understand Bulletman's shtick. I thought he was just very strong guy who could fly and slam into stuff with his bullet head. How can he stop a careening bulldozer? Did his powers simply rise to any occasion? *check toonopedia* That's about right -- I know about Bulletgirl (cover eye candy) but Bulletboy and Bulletdog?? HAW!!!! Pictures of Bulletdog and the Bulletfamily all together attached. Bulletjack
  8. But there are crazy people here interested in collecting all of the Four Color books -- some reluctantly. Paying actual money for Francis the Talking Mule can be painful. Nice copy! Jack
  9. Maybe, but I bet there are a lot of people here who would be glad to have that book. Grothkopf cover? Too classy for the short bus, I'd say. Jack
  10. Flash Gordon vs. the Deadly Manicurist! "Come nearer and I shall be forced to use this nail file!'' HAW! Jack
  11. NOT SHORT BUS! That's a beauty. Easily one of the best covers of the run, and the inside is probably almost as good. Good catch. Jack
  12. She's pretty buff in that pic. Looks like some of the muscle women of today. And great Valentines Cover on the Action 71 Lois looks slimmer wearing a tank top in her pictures in the story. However, she looks a little muscle bound in that splash and Sup is a little wilted. I had to look it up: Pencils: George Roussos (signed as Joe Shuster) Inks: George Roussos (signed as Joe Shuster) but I should have known -- it looks a lot like his artwork for GE Adventures in Science. Jack
  13. Whew! If that bus were any shorter, it would be a Mazda2. The disembodied scarecrow head on a gift box may be the most disturbing -- looks like Anthony Fremont's work. Jack
  14. You gonna keep rubbing that one in my face, eh? That's a lab cover that I "need" too. Is there a scene anything like it in the Plastic man story? It's G Fox, not Cole, right? (Maybe that's the discssion -- I didn't read back very far.) Jack
  15. Tom Mix 3, Ralston-Purina promo, 1940 Cool cover. Too bad that's the only piece I got. (Anyone need a front cover?) Jack
  16. Very nice! What a silly-looking Hitler. I don't think I would ever have IDed that face by itself as Schomburg's work. Jack
  17. Thanks. Possibly just a drive-by. (When will I catch up?) Jack *SNIF* no comment on my funnybooks (((Jack:))! Great books, we missed you....and you are never boring....those are interesting! Interesting to a select group of discerning collectors, let's say. Thanks. "I'll be back!" said Jack from behind.
  18. I thought you'd get a smile out of these orphans. Thanks. Jack
  19. Thanks. Possibly just a drive-by. (When will I catch up?) Jack *SNIF* no comment on my funnybooks
  20. Now, there's something you don't see every day, Chauncey. Recent, old, mostly "reader," mostly oddball DC purchases. Seller's photos. Jack barely remember how to post pix
  21. Starting out with a BANG! Sub-100, Walt Kelly, nice copy AND beak abuse by a cricket. Outstanding. Jack (surprised I can still find my way here) Glad to see you back, Jack. Where you been? "Book 'em, Danno" Have I really been back for 3 weeks? Where did the time go? Jack
  22. Starting out with a BANG! Sub-100, Walt Kelly, nice copy AND beak abuse by a cricket. Outstanding. Jack (surprised I can still find my way here) We are surprised too. But glad you did (thumbs u Yeah, but Scrooge is going to bludgeon me with a long box of undistributed, minty-fresh X-Men 1s (deluxe cover edition) if I don't get my @#$%^ in gear on our long-lost trade. Great to see Scrooge score a primo FC 92! I'd love to find one of those. Jack hopelessly behind
