  1. later i'll post some but off the top of my head i have Avengers 57, Tales to Astonish 40,59,60 , Spiderman 122 - Im planning to get 15-20 books graded. maybe i'll post my list later and you experts can chime in on which are worth for me to spend the grading fee on.
  2. This year I got back into my hobby of collecting after over 35 years of letting my comics sit in storage. Im curious if the value of Marvel Comics (especially Spiderman, Xmen, Avengers, FF ) were trading at higher values during the movie era in the 2000's than they are today. I ask because Im starting to go through my old marvels now and thought they would go for more.
  3. Thank you all for the replies. I guess i have to assess the situation once im there, but at least im more prepared. Will keep you posted still have a few weeks until we meet.
  4. Im a little slow - is this some type of code i should know?
  5. no edgy as in - "i dont have the time for this comic stuff that landed on my lap - i got things to do" just a weird personality over the phone. please reply with answers pertaining to my question. thanks..
  6. thanks...maybe i'll keep that idea as a back up or to double check my count. - not even sure if a scale will be available.
  7. Hi I have an appointment to buy a large lot of 10 boxes of bronze age comics from an estate. The person selling is very edgy and doesnt want me spending hours looking through the collection. I can assess the value and my offer with no problem but i need to be able to count them quickly. They are all unbagged and they are NOT in standard comic boxes, they are in irregular size cardboard boxes. What is the best way to count them? I was thinking of bringing a ruler and just count how many comics fit per foot - then do the math. what do you think?
  8. Hi All I collected comics when I was a kid and stopped around 1980, accumulating around 550 comics, but well chosen books - 90% Marvel 10% DC. Now after 35 years Id like to continue collecting again. A lot has transpired and I have a lot to learn. I am trying to get an idea of what is worth collecting since 1980's in the Marvel/DC world. Its a loaded question but any input would help. Or even if you know of an article thatll help. Im looking for books that have good story lines, kick- artists and have gone up in value more than others. Thanks.
