  1. yes obviously - but it doesnt seem to concern some large ebay sellers that I see using stock images. In the end I am not going to use stock images, as you only find the front cover. Im curious more than anything how some sellers get away with it, and Im talking books $20-50 no less. the seller "mycomicshop" has tons of these type of listings. even books well over $100 with stock image in Fine condition. How do you know what your getting? As a buyer I would never do this...
  2. Ebay Sellers - any luck using "stock" images of comics instead of the real image? it takes me so long to do my own images. i see sellers using stock images a lot.
  3. Does anyone know where I can get complete cover-to-cover digital scans of actual Marvel & DC Silver Age comics ?
  4. congrats we made it back to "lightning bolt" status on the general forum page. Do I get "CGC points" or something for having so many replies and views on my post? Maybe a free comic grade? or a trip to LA?
  5. im surprised spell correction didnt pick that one up...
  6. Raw bronze and silver age...hundreds of them... going on vaca so wont get to cleaning them for a few weeks.
  7. Actually also EXCLUDE the word "fantasy" so you'll eliminate all the AF#15 that come up Advanced Sort for ASM 1 without word Fantasy
  8. to get a better idea of the REAL ebay value of a book - do an "advanced search" for "Amazing Spider-man #1" and then click the checkbox for SOLD listings. Then SORT from highest to lowest - tada! you'll get the real "ebay value" see here... Advanced Sort for ASM 1
  9. Wow thats a pretty thorough article...not sure if i'll do all they suggest but i'll definitely refer to it before i start.. Thanks.
  10. you missed a spot but nobody's perfect.
  11. Its amazing how these threads take on a life of their own. I basically got my answer on page 1.
  12. I just ordered the putty and a book dirt eraser from amazon..https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0763JSKMY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Not the worst $18 Ive ever spent. I only have Bronze and Silver age, will try it on some low grade books and keep you posted.
  13. Thanks all for chiming in. This looks interesting. Im going to buy a can and toy around with it on some no value comics I have...
  14. I have several raw comics from an estate sale that have mild dirt build up and just plain dirty - otherwise decent books. Any recommendations on how to clean them?
  15. Thanks I live in NYC. Definitely got an array of answers - thanks. My deal fell through but I'll keep this intel in mind for the next one. Although with all the Fg profanity and attitude here in NYC - I may just sell my collection and call it quits..
  16. I have the cabinet sitting there already - its a few years old, had some tools in there which Ive since moved, its basically empty but thanks for the advice.
  17. Yes it would be a gradual change if youre familiar with NY temps..and as I mentioned garage is solid, meaning no leaks or openings whatsoever, I took care of that last year when I actually had squirrels, but nothing since then. Im still on the fence if Im going to purchase this but doing my homework just in case. Additionally I would store them within a tall metal office cabinet like the kind you see in office depot.
  18. Hey all - Im thinking of purchasing a new lot of 15 boxes but I have a storage issue at home, so my only choice would be to store in my garage. Its a good solid garage but has no heat or AC. Temperatures inside will range from 30 degrees in winter to 90+ in summer.. They will probably be there a 6-12 months before I get to them... Drum roll question - will this damage my comics and to what extent?
  19. Thanks that sort of helps... Im not looking to CGC any of these just sell on ebay - mostly under $50 comics. But cream seems to be ok with NM books according to this chart. Im curious does CGC have a color chart for the page colors? My version of cream or tan, or dark tan etc may be different than the next guys.
  20. wow thats awesome news for me if its true. I mean Ive been selling these as VF or VF+ with no problem. One buyer even told me I undergraded. But if what youre saying is true then why do they bother with the OW or cream pages in the grading process?
  21. Ive been struggling to grade a bunch of Branze Age books I have to sell on ebay that basically fall under the 9.0-9.2 grade. Whats holding me back is that the pages are cream for the most part. These books were never ever bagged, yet preserved well in boxes for many years. How much yellow/cream is allowed for a book to still be considered 9.0-9.2 ?
  22. I gather LCS is Local Comic Store. Im referring more to ebay sales but i guess its the same thing, if the kids have money theyll figure out how to spend it.
  23. Since Im relatively new to selling and havent experienced a holiday season in selling comics - i was wondering what the seasoned sellers say about the holiday season in comic sales. Can you compare it to the retail season spike of an Amazon and the likes, or Brick and Mortar stores, etc? Or are Comic collectors not specific to the holiday season as its more of a year round hobby.?
  24. ok got it - what is this type of defect called in grading terminology? (dont say rat chew)
