  1. looks like your on hacker radar. i would do 2 step verification of every site that offers it asap (paypal, your email accounts, bank accounts etc). also call feebay direct to ask what else you can do. talking from experience
  2. When it comes to actually doing my research for a listing, I am strictly laptop computer with 2nd screen. For each comic I use a complex system to get my ultimate listing and fairest price. Some of the sites I use are Terapeak, gocollect (for price trends, there are others too), and fandom.com for actual info on the comic book including storyline, artists, year, characters, etc. Since Im savvy behind the keyboard Im flipping through these rather quickly , a book slows me down, and the PDF version, to me, would seem outdated compared to the live data I have at my fingertips. The only reason I may still get it is to show how much less I charge than the guide. Ex: Guide Price $100, My Price: $50
  3. I dont know who he is but some of you apparently know his name and ebay handle..if he sells on ebay they usually have details on sellers phone numbers etc. Also if he has ever purchased from CGC Im sure they have info as well. just my
  4. Im a little OCD on this but in my defense I mustve misunderstood the comment in the HA article of my link which says " And now you can get it all on your computer - fully searchable - with the click of a mouse. " The words "and now" seem to allude to something new, that has never happened before..
  5. Make sure you base your pricing on SOLD history on ebay. If you go by Overstreet or for what others are selling for, they will just sit. I usually do a 3 month history. When you get big then there is a program called Terapeak to search sales. It comes free with certain ebay stores. Good Luck. I started selling last year and I have the premium store now with 1000 free listings a month.
  6. ok i didnt know that, my bad.. i just got back into the hobby a year ago..
  7. i still dont get it. based on 2 images of a front and back cover they are going to determine the grade? come'on. IMHO - There should be a minimum of 5 images, something like front cover, back cover, splash page, centerfold staples page, and 1 other.
  8. Last year purchased my first OPG and barely used it due to the small writing even with magnifier sheet placed over it. Not sure why it took so long for them to come out with a PDF edition. see link below.. Thoughts? https://comics.ha.com/overstreet/comic-book-price-guide.s?ctrack=3750581&type=imglink-1-comic--overst-49gen--tem071719 Im debating if its worth the 30 bucks as I usually evaluate my books based on 3-12 month sold history on ebay.
  9. Ive tried selling my bulk on FB. It worked once, sold 100 books for $50 mixed junk stuff. Now I have a new lot of 50 modern all NM books for $50 X-Men , X-Factor, Wolverine genre books and its just sitting there, so i dont get it. Anybody have tips for selling Bulk? Ideally Id like $0.75 a book..mostly 80, 90, 00's, some BA
  10. I'll only charge $2 and guarantee it'll fall between a 1.0 - 10.0! But seriously, How will they visually grade these? What if the listing only has a cover shot? Does it need to include back cover, inside pages, how many inside pages? what if i take pictures of the best inside pages but not the one with the coupon cut out? This makes no sense.
  11. Im never a buyer also, curious to see how they grade my listings.
  12. I haven't had the time to dabble with it. Will let you know of I do.
  13. I hope Im wrong but it looks like this is for BUYER protection, not Seller protection. Go to the agreement section you mentioned and read just above your earlier quote , as it states... Our online dispute resolution process If you’re unable to resolve a transaction related issue directly with a seller, you must follow our online dispute resolution process ..... Proof of delivery means: For transactions that total less than $750 U.S. dollars (or the foreign currency threshold in the table below), confirmation that can be viewed online and includes the delivery address showing at least city/state or zip code, delivery date, and the identity of the shipping company you used. For transactions that total $750 U.S. dollar (or the foreign currency threshold in the table below) or more, you must provide signature confirmation of delivery.
  14. this is for a merchant account - where you use paypal services for accepting credit card charges, they act as a bank. i dont think this applies if your just a seller. maybe im wrong..
  15. ok theres no way i have time to address all the rebuttals and rebukes on my post... I agree...CGC does hold a higher standard than me..(i am not worthy) But my customers arent unassuming novice buyers. I sell to many established knowledgeable collectors every week that like my books. Maybe they just ignore my grade and look at my pics which is fine with me. Thank you all - post closed
  16. all valid points i guess. which begs me to ask - why should i bother with cgc? especially if my customers are "forgiving" and they are willing to pay my offer.. FYI the books im talking about are under the $500 value tier in most cases...
  17. excellent suggestion..did you read my post? Im not tooting my horn, but if I assess a book at 8.0, my customers agree and are satisfied with their purchase. So when my 8.0 comes back as a 6.0, thats a big difference.
  18. I've been selling comics on ebay for a year now and in a quick amount of time learned to build up a presence and following on my SA and BA books. I have consistent great feedback on my shipping, accuracy, and yes...my grading. Im no pro by any means, but when I state a grade whether it be a 4.0 or a 9.0, I get no complaints whatsoever. Thats why it came to a surprise to me my last CGC graded submission. Ive only submitted twice. The first time was about a year ago when i submitted some old books from my collection. I wasnt sure what to expect but I took a shot and submitted 10 books. I expected higher grading but I didnt know much back then. I then submitted my 2nd submission recently of 5 books. I had estimated in my grading a range of 7.5 - 9.0 for these books. What came back was so anything but. I received a 5.5, 6.0, 6.0, 7.0, 7.5. This is absolutely ludicrous. As a reseller I lost hundreds of dollars on this as I could've sold these for higher grades with zero complaints (and no grading fees!). I will continue to use CGC for their excellent chat boards but thats about it. From now on its high res images and my suggested grade and let the customer decide. Anyone else have a similar experience?
  19. Im interested. The thing that takes up most time for me is the uploading photos. even if i use urls of hosted images - it takes about the same time. but you can teach me something.
  20. Thought I would give an update on this. Its been almost a year since I posted this post and A LOT has transpired. 1- I rebranded a dormant ebay account that i owned which had almost 5000 feedbacks from my former accessory business. Now its all comics. 2 - I started selling my old collection - some had value - some dont - I learned whats worth collecting and what isnt. 3 - I learned how to grade. Although not a pro, my feedbacks are contantly patting me are the back for my fair grading. 4 - I purchased a large Bronze and Silver lot of 3000 books for really cheap which has kept me busy for the last year. 5- Im starting to get into baseball/sports cards.
  21. Ebay Sellers Is there a way to know what percent of my ebay sales were made by mobile purchase vs other?
  22. so I got the newsletter with the seller update features , but my listing page doesnt show the "offer to buyers" feature. do i have to wait? how come some of you have it already? FYI - @oldrover you have same user icon as me....
  23. Im sure this topic has been covered somewhere in the chats, so forgive me if it has... If I wanted to purchase a non-verified Stan Lee signature what should I be looking for? I know what his signature looks like obviously but did he use a certain pen or color ink? Did he ever sign randomly, meaning not at a signature event etc?
