  1. Now it makes sense why I’ve cracked THREE newsstand slabs that had Mark Jeweler inserts not noted on the label. They don’t even have the time to open the books. CGC literally is just grading the cover. My buddy sent in a ASM300 with four torn pages and still got a 9.8. And it also makes sense why I’ve gotten back multiple books with fingerprints and finger bends.
  2. Harley Quinn #18 (2022) is a Batman #1 "homage" that reuses Bob Kane artwork. Ryan Sook is the only listed cover artist but he only drew the Harley Quinn. DC themselves has "VARIANT COVER BY BOBE KANE & RYAN SOOK" printed above the barcode.Batman is drawn by Kane.
  3. No, nothing indicates the books were unsecured. Todd seemed to be doing the signing in a lobby or room off of this hallway. The video is up on the CGC Instagram from 12/11/2022. It shows the path they take to where the books were in relation to the signing.
  4. During the big McFarlane signing at the end of 2022, they just stored all the books in a hallway. Maybe it’s a very secure hallway? 🤷‍♂️
  5. The problem is, the book would have been reholdered and not shown signs of tampering. So this tells me they might have scans of books before they started making the images public to be able to tell? I’m confused by Matt’s answer.
  6. One search of that book on eBay will tell you all you need to know. There are WAY less newsstands available, hence it’s rarer and commands a higher price tag. I personally like the corner box art.
  7. Agreed and great perspective. As I mentioned, I was just pointing out two of their public posts contained a book on the CGC list. Of course they could be victims.
  8. The New York shop’s Instagram has a couple of the scammer’s slabs with the rug background, specifically the JIM 8.0 that’s on CGC’s list. Looking like they got scammed too. I’m willing to bet the SS books are legit.
  9. This 9.8 was sold on 10/3 via eBay for around $1800. Seems it was the “true” 9.8 that he originally bought in early August for $2200. Wonder why he let it go rather than using it again for another swap. Weird.
  10. The issue with faking signatures, they’d have to take it out of the inner well and then reseal it within the inner well. We haven’t seen proof of this capability yet. My brain hurts.
  11. One of the first swaps that was discovered was an old label NM98 newsstand that became a regular blue label MJ. No custom label.
  12. We def know it was a swap but we may never find the donor book if he bought it via Insta / FB / in person. Great work, BTW. Really impressive stuff you’ve been doing.
