  1. I still think the signings HAVE to stop! CGC announces what seems like 1 or 2 new signings every other week with a 6 week TAT. Definitely got to have an affect on the other TAT's with these books are getting bumped ahead of others. They should at least give it a 3 or 6 month break and see if there's any change in the backlog. 9 signings scheduled in March so far 7 signings already scheduled for April
  2. Surprise surprise just received ANOTHER email for a new signing.
  3. Maybe I read incorrectly but with all these signings that CGC seems to advertise every other week I thought I saw that they had a 6 week TAT?? If this is correct the fact that they do these significantly has to effect the TAT's in general does it not? Why continue to do these if it does, I know $$$ but one would think if the signings were suspended until they some what caught up they could alleviate this backlog in turn getting more submissions out the door and more cash coming in? Or maybe I'm just dumb.
  4. CGC charged my CC for this submission they just received I thought they didn't charge until ready for shipping? Is that correct or is this new?
  5. I sent 25 modern and 3book box out last week they were delivered on Friday both delivered same day they entered into the system yesterday the 25 book box not the 3 book box this is crazy fast is this the new norm?? Site still shows opening January 17th.
  6. I see what looks like 3 small color breaking spine tics and can't tell but looks like maybe something going on by the bottom staple it's difficult once slabbed and it sucks there's no grader notes, I've said it multiple times here I feel every book deserves notes regardless 9.8 or lower it's the very least CGC could do.
  7. Maybe I'm seeing things but it looks like a small chip at the edge of the cover by the INTELLIVISION just to the left of the yellow car also looks like some small spine ticks maybe 3 or 4??
  8. I recently received my HTTE #1 back and I would've bet money it was an easy 9.8 but it was graded a 9.2 for a small scratch on the back cover that's virtually unseen I tried taking a pic of it but I can't get it to show up on photos so I'm going to say 9.0-9.2 at best based on my experience.
  9. I'm going to say 8.0-8.5 if your lucky, I just received the same book back would've bet it was a 9.8 it's pristine no ticks no dents no finger prints I never even read it when I bought if off the rack back in the day and they gave it a 9.2 due to a nearly impossible small scratch on the back cover that's only possible to see if you tilt the book a certain way. If it goes a 9.2 let us know I'll crack my case and resubmit.
  10. Turnaround times are Ridiculous but hey let's keep adding a new signing every other week to keep piling on the already impossible workload. Great job guys! (said sarcastically)
  11. What he said! Waiting 5-6 months for grades only to have no idea why books are graded is just plain lazy.
  12. Well this is interesting, my last order was delivered to CGC the first week of May and has been "Scheduled for Grading" since 6-23 and my CC was charged on 10-1 that doesn't make sense based on this answer????
  13. I agree that grading a book takes time, but teaching someone to grade just Moderns shouldn't be that difficult. Hell opening a box shouldn't be that difficult either but sitting for 2 months before being touched is absolutely ridiculous. Also I double checked my last submission and it was received the first week in May so I'm at 115/116 days now and I believe the TAT was around 90days when I sent them in so go figure.
  14. Not only are they sending slabs back in unacceptable shape I recently saw where they graded a book 9.8 charged the sender and then returned it raw with other slabs. QC at its finest.
  15. same boat here my last order was received in late May as well and my CC was charged a week ago and my status still shows "scheduled for grading" which it's been since the middle of June so who knows when I'll see them. I have around 50 or so more books I want graded but I just can't justify these delays and I'm still under the old cost discount until early next year but it's just a waste at this point. I guess the 75 or so new employees aren't helping speed anything up just yet.
  16. 7.5/8.0 If they grade yours like they did mine the 2 scratches on the front cover are going to get hit hard. I just had this book graded and it's perfect I would've bet money it was a 9.8 and it had a small scratch on the back cover hardly visible and they graded it a 9.2 listed just the scratch on the grader notes so who knows.

    Damaged book

Repaired holder shipped today so 10 days as stated, not bad.
  19. Agreed, and I personally think it's going to get worse. Blackstone is going to want to get their money back and quickly so I think that CGC will turn into the grade all company toys, sneakers you name it what ever you want graded they'll do it. The days of quick turnarounds are over unless we pay a premium that is.

    Damaged book

When I spoke with CS I specifically asked about the lead time since it's taken 4-1/2 months to get this back and I was told 10days turnaround time for the reholder so I guess I'll see....

Spoke with customer service yesterday and mailed the book back which was received today so hopefully the reholder doesn't take long. Thanks!
