Yeah, I've noticed that sometimes the publishing schedule could be quite haphazard. A series that was ostensibly bi-monthly would sometimes go longer than than two months before the next issue would come out. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I'd have to dig a bit to find some examples.

I agree with you on the UK link and I also agree that we'll probably never know the reason why these exist. I think it's pretty safe to say that these were not price test market copies like the 30 and 35 cent Marvels. 

I wish we knew the back story of why these 15 versions exist. Speculation is fun but having something from the horses mouth would be great. Speculation and educated guesses are probably what we will have to fall back on. You'd think Harvey kept records but even if they did, do they still exist?

Considering that we're talking about low value comics that are not on many collector's radar and were probably consumed by younger kids at the time, it doesn't surprise me one bit that dealers don't have them. I'm sure many of them don't want to take up inventory space for comics that very few will want. That's why I think the best place to find these is at flea markets, antique fairs or shops, or junk type stores. Maybe at a tag (car boot or jumble) sale? 

Are you aware that Four Color 878 also comes in a 15 cent variant? In case you want to add it to your want list

All I can say is that if there are any UK based boardies that find a bunch of these and want to sell, they have a customer in me. The good thing is that Harveys, variants or not, are cheap  

Postage these days is not  and trying to acquire them one or two at a time isn't viable.

Those are mine. I got all four and several others from an ebay UK seller a couple years ago. 

Other than what Mark says, I have not heard any theories as to why these exist. When I have seen them for sale it's only been from UK based ebay sellers. It's a small sample for sure and doesn't prove anything but I think they might have only been distributed in the UK.

Why they were 15 cents and why they cut down the page count on the giant size issues is a mystery to me. They are odd though aren't they? Until I saw that Wendy 75, I thought there were only 15 cent versions of the 25 cent giant issues.
