    9.6?

Agreed people have bad days. I would think it should be a policy that if that's the case, no glasses/contacts today? No work today so go home with a write up or go get your glasses/contacts. With potentially hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars passing through their hands per shift, there should be no exceptions. I was under the impression that at least at one point, it took 3 graders to assign a book a given grade. I'm guessing that must have changed down the line somewhere because that book is just crazy for the grade assigned. Yes anyone can have a bad day but this looks like more than that. It's speculation but this looks like a labeling error and definitely a QC error. Something like this should never have left their facility.
  2. As long as they know what is and what is not a complete module. Some have inserts and multiple booklets. Not to mention multiple printings, monochrome covers, etc. They would need someone on the grading team who is knowledgeable about TSR modules. I'm also guessing they would not grade anything in shrink wrap unless the shrink was removed.
  3. No Instagram? Reddit? Any place else but here
  4. Take it to twitter or facebook. please
  5. I just got the two Ditko books. Couldn't pass them up for $9.95 each.
  6. If he didn't have a tendency to draw characters with duck lips and look like they might be constipated, more people might list him as a favorite Granted, he doesn't do it all the time but it's enough to be more than noticeable.
  7. Tough to pick only five Russ Heath Joe Kubert John Byrne John Romita Jack Kirby
  8. Would New Jersey be any better? As you well know, some parts of Jersey are very nice and some parts should be raised via bombing from orbit
  9. I think I am putting my plans together to leave NY in 3,274 more days. Florida is on the list. Invest in central air and flood insurance. And watch out for those roving shuffleboard gangs. I hear they are rough. Oh yeah, and avoid Twopennies
  10. CBCS is like getting a divorced. Where is the line to loose half your stuff? (but in their case $) Yeah, this ....... ...... is a big consideration that many (seems that way to me) CBCS fans (many of whom are also rabid CGC haters) fail to consider. Personally, I don't care what company anyone uses and for whatever reasons but it seems pretty clear that CGC slabs, in general, realize a higher return. That's not important to some but for those that it is, you simply can't say "submit to CBCS instead." That won't work for them.
  11. Thanks for mentioning this site. I had no idea.
  12. Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Vol 5 is available for pre-order at cheap graphic novels.com https://www.cheapgraphicnovels.com/spider-man-amazing-spider-man-omnibus-vol-05-hc-dm-kane-cvr.html
  13. Yeah man, they suck (While awaiting for my 25 moderns to come back, and my 50 book sub to be pressed) It certainly sucks for those who have comics in the pipeline but if enough people took a stand and stopped submitting and it began to affect their bottom line they'd take notice. I fully realize that it would take A LOT of people to make that kind of a difference,
  14. And yet people keep submitting comics. It's gotten to the point where it almost is like all the lemmings going off a cliff. They just can't resist submitting.
  15. Don't be surprised when I appropriate this for my next toy sale in Mixed this weekend. Go for it and beat it into the ground like That's what she said or which they didn't have to do or wudy (That one really needs to stop)
  16. Right I get it. But CGC’s stance on polybagged comic books is to to not grade the manufacture’s shrink wrap and to remove the book and grade the book. It just seems odd to me as it doesn’t really seem to be any different. What's true of one is not necessarily true of another. Different collectibles, different mindset and preferences. When it comes to toys and video games, sealed/unopened stuff has always been sought after. It's no surprise to me that grading companies would take advantage of this by offering grading/slabbing services. Another factor might be that bagged comics is a relatively new thing and not all that common so collectors haven't been searching for that elusive factory sealed copy of Hulk 181 because it never existed. Meanwhile, toys and video games have always come in sealed packages.
  17. That price seems completely fair.... You must be kidding
  18. I bet you're right too. That just leaves them with the grocery aisle, then they've established true dominance. Let's hope. I have some vintage cans of beans I'm dying to get graded
